Throws good sparks without a lot of effort!
I have purchased many different ferro rods but I can say this one throws good sparks. Easier to use than most ferro rods this size! I teach beginner bushcraft classes and love this one for demos!

Striker not good
The rod is very good. The Striker did not do so good. I used my older Striker and it created 2+ times more sparks. I tried the new Striker many times but failed creating the sparks like my old Stryker.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Best ferro rod ive used by far!! Throws off way more sparks than most. Lasts forever

Ferrofire makes fire
Ferro rod was delivered as promised and it works very well. It is a "soft" rod and throws good sparks. I have not had any issues lighting fat wood. Rod works just as the videos i have seen about it. Not sure if the 5 inch would be a little nicer but the 4 inch is doing what i need

Remove protective coating before use.
Rod coated with anti corrosion primer/ paint. Needs to be washed off before optimal spark performance. I used paint thinner on 4/5:th of the length of the rod. Good sparks after coating removed.
