The hat is cute! I loved the price mostly. Because the light switch was stitched inside it is almost impossible to know where the battery protector slip is at in order to remove it. I used a seem ripper to open up the hoof and pulled it out. Then I could see where to grasp the other one to PULL THE PAPER that protects the battery from operating. I pulled the paper then tucked the bulb and lights back in the bottom of the foot. I plan on using a hot glue gun to seal the seem back together. What a pain! Aside from that I am positive my 2yr old Grandson will just LOVE IT!

My original purchase of this hat when my Step Daughter received it, only one side lit up and yes, I tried multiple new batteries. I contacted Amazon and they were super kind to send me a replacement. That one neither side lit up. This is a very defective item. Would not recommend purchasing it.

Got this one and another for my girlfriend, and she wears it after showers or whenever she's happy.She calls it her happy hat, I am constantly laughing with this product to cause she will ask questions and raise a ear and it honestly cracks me up - I recommend one of these to any of the girls in your life because they are 1) adorable and 2) are a way to assist in expressing one's self while being silly.

I got the penguin hat for my daughter, but one side doesn't work. There should be an opening to take the battery pack out to change the battery, but there isn't. The hat ia cute with the flapping ears, but the lights should work on both sides.
