I am sharing my experience with the Hollyland LARK MAX duo mic system. To be honest I have been looking for a decent audio system for a good while, have owned expensive and complex UHF system from really expensive brands and also tested others of a affordable price point and haven’t been happy with none of them. I am a professional wedding photographer that does over 30 weddings per year and I have started to do the Behind the Scene videos of my weddings to show my clients the process of shooting a wedding. I have been looking for a simple yet professional quality solution and after I tested the LARK MAX system I can say I am at home. Simple of use, great quality audio and a design that it is just gorgeous I am in love with my system. Let me go in a bit more detail about the system. The Hollyland LARK MAX Duo is an impressive wireless audio system that offers high-quality sound transmission for content creators, filmmakers, and musicians alike. With its compact size and advanced features, it has gained a reputation for being a reliable and versatile tool in the industry. Because teh amazing sound quality and simply of use it is being chosen by professional over brands that are in a higher price point. One of the standout features of the LARK MAX Duo is its dual-channel wireless transmission capability. For my personal use of doing interviews and behind the scene with not just me as a talking head the system delivers outstanding practicality because it is so easy to use, just turn it on, pressREC and start talking getting clear audio to my camera every time. The LARK MAX allows you to simultaneously transmit audio to two different receivers, making it perfect for interviews, multi-camera setups, or any situation where you need to capture audio from multiple sources. This feature eliminates the need for additional audio cables and ensures a seamless recording experience. But the feature that I Personally use in most cases, (for example doing a BTS at a big wedding) it is the ability to record directly to the transmitter, yes no need to connect the audio to my camera, most of the time I am in the GOPRO hero 12 or in the INSTAX360, I record everything internally in the transmitter and them in post I Sync the audio witch it is very simple and easy to do. The LARK MAX Duo operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range, which provides a stable and interference-free connection. To be honest I have not had any issues with the signal interfering by mics but it could use a DIGITAL signal instead to avoid possible interference when in places with lots of other 2.4GHz equipment but so far no issues at all. Also the system use a signal amplifier. The system boasts a transmission range of up a incredible and crazy 800 feet in direct line of sight and almost 200 feet with obstructions like walls. This thing makes magic going through walls at venues, but again most of the time I am recording directly to the transmitter. Just to bring you an idea of the power of this system I did a wedding at a venue in Orlando Florida, the Science Museum, an amazing venue but very challenging with the getting ready rooms in a floor and the ceremony in another floor. I placed the receiver in my video guy camera on a gimbal on floor 2 and I got to the main floor with my bride to do the Formal Bridal Portraits and my audio was being recorded on my video camera on the 2nd floor. I am a not an audio professional but this to me is amazing. Please take in consideration that the building structure is all glass, that may help the long transmission distance of the equipment. I have tested the system in 5 big weddings so far, also in New York City where I tried to make a full video review that was not possible because time limitations for that wedding, in every occasion we clip the recorder to the GROOM or the PRIST and the receiver in top of the gimbal and we get supper clean audio every time. Compared to my old very expensive system it is a very practical system to use. Just the fact that we can record on the transmitter and also to the camera it is a life saver because we end the day with 2 copies of the recorded audios. I have no idea how long can it record internally, I belief it is about 14 hours, this is huge, just to illustrate we have done 2 weddings back to back and we still have space on teh recorder to keep putting more audio on them. When you have back to back wedding time it is very short to recharge batteries and download media, so not having to deal with the stress of running short on space for audio is a real plus. Same goes for the battery life of this thing, they say it is 22 hours of battery life, guys we used this in 2 weddings and did not charged them and still have juice to record a third smaller wedding. Put it this way, not having to charge the system so ofter give you the freedom to keep creating whit very little restrictions on the battery time. Another notable feature of the LARK MAX Duo is its real-time monitoring capability. It comes with a compact receiver that has a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing you to monitor the audio in real-time. This feature is essential for ensuring that the sound is clean and free from any unwanted noise or distortion. Guys this to me, remember I am not a PRO Audio guy, it is just incredible, I can see my levels very clear and the menu and knobs are easy to use and very easy to understand. Almost forgot to mention here, the feature that I love the most is the fact that it offers NOISE canceling. If you ever tried to record audio on a loud place full of noise and you need clean audio of a person you will know how stressful it can be. Just hit the NOISE cancelling option on the transmitter and you get a crazy result in clean audio whit destroying your subject vocal audio track. By the way you can record in MONO, Stereo or as a safety track, giving you the chance to record a lower DB audio track for this moments hen signal peak and clip your audio, yes like those DJ’s at a wedding that love to go really over their lives to announce the entrance of the couple, yes those moments. Setting up the LARK MAX Duo is a breeze. The transmitter and receiver are paired automatically, saving you time and effort. The OLED display on both units provides clear and easy-to-read information about the battery status, signal strength, and audio levels. The units are also equipped with rechargeable batteries, ensuring long-lasting performance. The system sound quality, the LARK MAX Duo delivers excellent results, they even sound better Tham other more expensive comparable mic systems. It supports a wide frequency response range and provides a clean and transparent audio signal. I am not a Pro audio guy so the little and detailed information go the company website to check those, all I can say about the audio quality it is that for those same day delivery for some of our weddings we do not even though the audio, remember, short highlight video must be done and exported for right before the couple is about to exit the venue, right before the exit. So having clean good audio it is a plus for us in this situations. The build quality of the LARK MAX Duo is impressive. The transmitter and receiver units are made from durable materials that can withstand the abuse of professional use. The fact that the system it is inclusive in one case makes it really good to protect it, from bag to bag to a table top to hang from my camera strap with the magnets they will last a long time for what we can see. The compact design makes it easy to carry and store, making it an ideal companion for on-the-go content creators. My Overall Experience with teh system is a great one, the Hollyland LARK MAX Duo is a top-notch wireless audio system that offers exceptional performance and versatility. I recently added the Hollyland Lavalier Microphone System to my collection, and I must say, it has completely blown me away. As a proud owner of all three major brands - Rode, DJI, and Hollyland, I can confidently say that the Hollyland Lavalier System stands out as a true winner. First and foremost, the wireless transmission system is simply outstanding. The audio quality is crystal clear, with no dropouts or interference, even at a considerable distance. I was genuinely impressed by the reliability and stability of the wireless connection. One of the most remarkable aspects of this system is its remarkable battery life. In comparison to the other two major brands, the Hollyland Lavalier Microphone System outperforms them by a significant margin. The extended battery life ensures that I can record uninterrupted for extended periods without any worries. Not only does the Hollyland Lavalier System excel in performance, but its design also caught my attention. The sleek and modern design of the microphones adds a touch of professionalism to my recordings. The included case is a brilliant addition, keeping everything organized and protected during transport. The magnetic feature on the transmitters is genuinely handy and has come to my rescue on numerous occasions. It provides a secure attachment to clothing, preventing accidental dislodging while allowing for flexibility in placement. The user interface deserves special praise. It is incredibly easy to use and highly intuitive. Within minutes of unboxing, I was up and running, navigating through the settings effortlessly. One standout feature of the Hollyland Lavalier System is the Enhanced Noise Cancellation (ENC). This game-changing technology significantly reduces background noise, resulting in crisp and clear audio, even in challenging environments. It has dramatically improved the overall quality of my recordings.

My background and use for wireless mics are event videography, run and gun systems and documentary/interviews. So I definitely require a reliable and quick setups with great audio. I've used the Rode Go II, Dji mic and Hollyland Lark M1. I would not even recommend the Rode at all in any consideration anymore. While they were one of the earlier/lower cost option with good audio, there are other options that have features that the Rode is missing. The lark M1 is a good and the lowest cost of the few that I've tried but I needed a mic that gave me the option to use a lav mic to be hidden for interviews. So for me it was between the Dji and the Lark Max that would find the most use in my work. Things I like about the Lark Max: -Build quality is great! Feels premium with it's metal casing. The metal clips gave me more confidence when attaching to any hot shoe mounts that it would not break eventually compared to the dji plastic clips. Definite plus as I have heard the Dji clips have broken for some people. -The physical menu dial along with the touch screen is a great touch for me personally. Sometimes I have to wear gloves and having the dial made it easier for me to navigate the menu. It feels solid and the push in click is tactile. -Audio is very crisp and clear! I even think I prefer the audio with the Lark over Dji just slightly. -Noise cancelling feature is really good and can save me in a tough, unavoidable situation with loud backgroud noise. In controlled situations I will still use the normal/non noise cancelling feature and clean up audio in post but definitely a great to have. Things to improve: -More rounded modern design compared to the boxier/sharp edge design (I know I'm nitpicking and just trying to find things I don't like about this mic lol) -32 bit float. None of the other mics mentioned don't have this either and this feature alone would bump up the price considerably but nonetheless a good feature to possibly add to future iterations. It is clear that Hollyland was aiming to compete with the Dji as they both have a lot of similar features. I was excited to test the Max out as the Dji was my go to. Both have a charging case, magnetic clip to be attached to clothing, lav mic support, the ablility to connect to smart phones and internal recording. At the time of purchasing, I received 2 lav mics for free which is a bonus. I've included side by side size comparisons for both mics if you wanted to see the difference. The transmitters were basically the same size. The Lark Max receiver is a little bigger but that is due to the physical dial which I like. So which one will I be using? Both! They are both provide amazing audio and are feature packed that you won't go wrong with either! Some will buy the Dji just because they might be more known as a brand with their drones and gimbals. But with the physical dial, noise cancelling option and metal clips...I may be reaching for the Lark Max more often than not. Happy recording!

First off, I work as a professional sound mixer and these wouldn't be what I would use for a high end commercial or movie but they're a nice tool for quick and easy shoots. I actually own this set, the DJI set and the Rode Wireless Go 2. All very similar in function. For those not as familiar with Hollyland, they're this great company that is most famous for their wireless video systems and over the last few years they've been branching into other product lines and you can really tell they want to make great products. Let me share some of the things I love about this set. 1. The sound. Great quality sound. And something the other guys don't have which is built in noise cancelling that can be toggled. This can be especially helpful for consistent noises like loud AC Or refrigerators. 2. The charging case. Great and simple to use. DJI also has this. Rode does not come with one. 3. The price. At $50 less than the DJI. It's a solid value. And I got mine with an offer that included 2 lavalier mics. 4. Simple recording. Rode has you use a specific software. This is just plug into your computer and copy your files. While I did give it 5 stars, there's always room for improvement. Here are some things I'd love to see on the next iteration. 1. Smaller size. DJI is slightly smaller from the case to the transmitters and receiver. They're already so small but if you're putting your setup on a gimbal or having lots of attachments to your camera, you want the smallest footprint possible. 2. The cable connectors. A lot of people will use this with their phones and they include cables. DJI has these great adapters with slots in the case that attach directly to the phone. No wires or trying to figure out how to hold the receiver. I'd love to see hollyland do something like this. 3. The name on the transmitter. This is one I can't imagine I'll see changed because all 3 companies have done it for understandable reasons. When someone is wearing the transmitter the logo for the company is on the clip. This can be distracting when mics should be as discreet as possible. The problem is, this is a fantastic way to get your company name out. When people watch the video they know exactly who makes the mic. Obviously you could cover the name but I'd love to see a thinner clip with no name to make these mics even more discreet than they already are. Overall I think there's enough here make anyone looking for a set happy. I'd go with either this or the DJI set. Not the Rode. This has the noise cancel feature and cheaper price. DJI is smaller and has those cool direct attachments for your phone.

I am a full-time video production professional and have been using three of the Lark 150 wireless mic systems for the past few years (6 mics total). Recently Hollyland released a new updated Lark MAX version, which I have been using on many of my commercial shoots. As much as I have loved the Lark 150, I love the Lark Max more! There are many new upgrades that make this system amazing. 1) The battery life is insanely great now. 2) Internal recording!! My 2nd favorite feature. 3) The range and frequency hopping make the system extremely reliable. 4) The ENC (Environmental Noise Cancelling) is especially helpful in reducing reverberation in bad acoustic rooms. 5) The build quality is very rugged. Still tiny and light, but utilizing more metal and heavier duty plastic. 6) Magnetic attachment setup is a nice option if you don't like using the traditional clip. 7) The charging case is even smaller, and a nice hard case is now included to hold and protect everything. 8) The audio quality is cleaner and smoother now, not muddy like many other systems. What I also love is that when you connect to a computer, it opens up just like a hard drive. Other well-known systems require a goofy app interface that is cumbersome to use. The Lark Max is quick and easy to transfer the audio files to your computer. The screen quality and menu system is fantastic and allows for a ton of adjustments...including being able to start recording on either mic from the receiver. This saves you from having to walk back and forth from the "talent" and allows you to not rely on the "talent" to turn it off and on. The range and frequency hopping is totally amazing, and I have yet to have a dropout on any shoot. I have seen independent "deliberate interference" testing that shows this Lark Max works better and at 5x the distance of the other two major competitors. This system is a no-brainer choice, and offers exceptional quality and features for it's price-point. The only major recommendation I have to improve the next version would be to introduce 32-Bit Float Recording...that would make this system nearly perfect. In the meantime, I will continue to use all 8 of my Hollyland Lark Series wireless mics.

So far, these mics have been my most significant upgrade to my videography capabilities. Excellent quality. I've tested them for recording everything from casual conversations, classroom instructors, speakers at Toastmasters meetings, politicians, community theater plays, and separating the singers' vocals in live concerts. They're so useful that I tend to carry them around in my computer bag all the time just in case I need them. I'm thinking about testing them as live microphones fed into a PA system to see if they could serve as substitutes for the on-stage SM-58s at some events. Since these are the only lavalier mics I've owned, I can't say from hands-on experience whether or not they are truly superior to others. I do know that for my pro-sumer budget, I'm thrilled with their performance. The wireless stays connected over long distances. Also, during gigs, people have accidentally dropped them from about 3 feet onto the sidewalk at least a couple of times. Still working fine. Of course, I could have just been lucky, but they do feel rugged. They have been quite useful at conventions & expos. The digital noise canceling does a great job of filtering out the roar of the convention center to hear the vendors and speakers on the recordings. To polish it further, I've sent that audio through Adobe Enhance. My next gadget purchase will probably be a pair of clip-on wired mics to plug into these. Last weekend I had one clipped onto a singer's designer WHITE blouse. She put so much effort into getting her outfit, makeup, hairdo, and jewelry looking great for the stage spotlight, and then I showed up to stick this black chunky microphone onto her shirt kinda ruined the look. So, I'll be shopping for a less conspicuous attachment soon. At least the recording sounded great.

This is great device for LAV mics... I've done a lot of research before buying these, and was confident these would be a good investment. The battery life was great on each node, and the case has a portable battery bank for extra charging on the go. The latency between the mics and receiver is close to about 5ms... subtle but an audio engineer can tell... It's not a problem, and it's not so much that it messes with you when monitoring. The ONLY gripe I might have down the road is the fact that these (and many other big name manufacturers) utilize a non-replaceable battery design... I am a savy repair tech, and I'm not sure these will be easy to get into if I do happen to find a replacement battery. Apart from that, you can supply power via USB C, so if that time comes where the battery goes bad, It might still be able to get some sort of use. You can plug in external lav mic too, on the transmitter mics, good for hiding your mic when capturing dialogue in movies. The mics each have internal 8GB recording, and they sound very nice.

These microphones perform well under windy conditions. I bought them to do ebike reviews and the sound quality is very clear while traveling over 40 mph. They are easy to use, and the the receiver menu is easy to navigate. The sound quality is up to par with the best mics available on the market. The case that holds the microphones and other accessories is solid and well-made among having the ability to continually charge. The only gripe I have is the size and the lacking ability to connect like the DJI Mic2. However, for the 100 dollar price difference I can live with this one flaw. If you're on the fence and need quality microphones buy them. You won't regret it.

I am writing review after 22 months of usage. Product is excellent, i tried many cheap ones before buying this. Hollyland lark max is excellent for crystal clear audio. We live stream various meeting everyday. But recently noticed since last 2 months 1 TX (transmitter) battery 🔋 issue. Even after 100% full charge it drains in 10 minutes. So I wrote to Hollyland support team. I got prompt reply in 48 hours from China, saying registration link for after sales support since 1 year warranty period was over. They provided link so I filled all details product, attached invoice and my address. As replacement for 1 TX they have given estimated cost 85 USD I.e. about plus 7K INR. Now I planning to buy New Set of Hollyland Lark M2S or new product combo higher variant.

Extremely well made, and very handy. Connect the receiver to your camera, and also record onto the transmitter for backup. The onboard mic on the transmitter is simply brilliant, but then you also have the added functionality of connecting an external lavalier microphone. Super flexible, high quality, and very easy to use.
