Speed and Type will depend on motherboard and connectivity when installed, keep that in mind when using, lower speeds are perfect for Compatibility with standard input peripherals such as keyboard/mouse. This item serves the intended purpose of offering two more USB 2.0 ports, once Windows is loaded and activates all drivers.I made the mistake of assuming to two 9 pin USB connectors at the bottom of my MSI X570S MPG Edge Max WiFi were powered during bios, there not.Just one port on the connector group at edge of the MB and the two connected ports on the top of the case are active in bios.But the USB adapter I purchased is is fine for it’s intended purpose.And a very good value.
