Review: Very well done! - I was given a preliminary copy to review and I am glad I was. Lingo Mastery has done it yet again! Another excellent and enjoyable French grammar book, this time concentrating on verbs. It starts with the French alphabet and free downloadable audio files. Then it goes on to remind you of or give you the basics you will need to know when learning French verbs. Finally, it goes on to teach you how to conjugate French verbs in the various tenses from the infinitive through the present subjunctive. Rather than have you learn how to conjugate each individual verb and then memorize it, it uses key verbs to teach you the various patterns to look for. Yes, there are patterns, even with irregular verbs, and there is a list of irregular verbs at the back of the book. There are plenty of exercises, with answers, to help one learn/reinforce things. And it is all done in an enjoyable, stress free manner. It is well worth the price for anyone from A1 through B2/C1 level. Review: LingoMastery has hit another home run - The new offering from lingo mastery is described as a workbook to make verbs easy. It is definitely a workbook with the emphasis on “work“. I would describe it more to be an exhaustive course with less emphasis on easy and more on comprehensive. A semester college course would hardly offer as much. The course provides access to downloadable audio files to supplement teaching content; some exercises require the audio content. If you are serious about learning the rules and practice associated with French verbs, this is the text for you. But be prepared for a “work“ experience; this is not like reading a novel for pleasure.

French Verbs Made Easy makes sense
This book is helpful by giving reasons for conjugations & eases the confusion of learning Mid-level French. I am concerned that proofreading between the exercises & Answer pages did not catch mistakes. The Beginner will be very confused [pg. 21, 3f; pg. 24, 2g] since the Answer Key is incorrect. There may be more mistakes, but I hope not.

Excellent tool for building a foundation in conjugating
Let me preface this by saying that I give it 5 stars. I was looking for a book to practice conjugating the conditional, imparfait, and subjunctive verbs. I was a little disappointed that this book is for more of a beginner, and I thought that I was beyond it, BUT I did end up learning a lot about accents and conjugating, (like verbs that end in -ayer or -cer). I had 2 years of high school French many years ago and have been learning on Duolingo. I love Duolingo and its repetition, but it does leave something to be desired in giving explanations of grammar rules. This book is a great tool for strengthening my foundation and I have been enjoying studying with it. I have been happy with all of my Lingo Mastery purchases and this is no exception.

Answer key contains a lot of errors
Would not recommend to anyone looking to learn/practice the language. As an intermediate French learner, I wanted something that could help me practice my verb tenses. I started with one of the simpler exercises as a warm up, and discovered pretty quickly they are very fast and loose with their translations, which results in a lot of errors. It’s nuanced - for example, the phrase “he has a doctorate in chemistry” is different than “he is a doctor of chemistry” - same basic meaning, but a different verb (“has” vs “is”). But the book mixes them up throughout, in the answer key and the English translation. Particularly problematic is that the whole lesson in question was about choosing the correct verb (has/is in this case - “to have”/“to be”). I discovered several such issues in the first lesson alone (and yes, I checked with several different sources, I’m 100% sure they are wrong). So within a few hours of receiving this book, I had to throw it out. There’s a lot of great material out there - skip this and find a better source.

I’ve been studying French. I love the language but as happened when I studied Spanish I was struggling with the verbs. This book really helped me. I would highly recommend it. It’s straight forward and easy to understand.

Well written
A good book if one wants to be able to read French or speak well. Not just conversational French.

Good for understanding verbs.
Very good if you need a comprehensive understanding of verbs. Perhaps more opportunity to use as a workbook without compromising quantity of content provided in the book.

Clear, Engaging, and Effective. A Great French Learning Resource!
I purchased this French workbook to brush up on my language skills, and it has been exactly what I needed. Whether you’re a beginner or someone returning to French after a long break, this book makes learning both approachable and enjoyable. What I Love: Well-Structured Lessons: Each chapter builds on the previous one, starting with simple vocabulary and grammar and gradually introducing more complex concepts. Plenty of Practice: There are lots of exercises in different formats, fill-in-the-blank, translation, matching, and short writing prompts, which really help reinforce what you’ve learned. Clear Explanations: Grammar rules are explained in plain language with plenty of examples, so you’re not left guessing Extra Perks: The answer key in the back makes it easy to check your work. Works well for self-study or alongside a class. The pages aren’t overly cluttered, which makes it easier to focus. Verdict: If you’re looking for a workbook that’s straightforward, well-organized, and full of practice opportunities, this is an excellent choice. I’ve already noticed my vocabulary expanding and my confidence growing after just a few weeks of consistent use.
