Q: Will this product remove dead algae?

My bio reactor uses 25 gallons of this media. I'd say it does a good job or scrubbing dead material from the water. I notice some getting back into the system every now and then, but the media design, while compacted, allows for good screening of all materials that make it into the reactor.

Q: My product was recieved with a hole in box and was not even in a bag. How am i supposed to know if i even have all of my material??

What ever you bought measure by a gallon container, cubic foot measure by 12 x 12 x 12 box,

Q: How much cubic feet do i need for the 55 gallon drum ?

You do not want to pack a 55 gallon drum full. For moving bed, you only want it about 1/3 to 1/2 full. For a static bed, MAYBE 2/3 full.
