101 Spy Gadgets for the Evil Genius 2/E 2nd Edition

My review is based on the Kindle version.I am an electronics hobbyist, I hold a Bachelors of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology, but my real job is in commercial aviation so while that is technical- it doesn't always fulfill my hands-on tinkering needs if you can understand. It's been a lot of years now since I graduated from college and while I know a lot about electronics, I've also forgotten a lot of the basics. I found this book to be an excellent refresher, and even learned a few new things! It explains such complex subjects in short order with enough information that I believe it is worth 5 stars. If only my professors had used such simple terms. It is readable, enjoyable, and one thing that stands out is the authors ability to put things in terms of simplicity that still are accurate and don't leave out the importance of what not to do.I would recommend also Forrest Mims Engineer's Notebook, and his collection of Engineer's Mini-Notebooks. These are a collection of basic to mid-level circuits drawn out with some good explanation of how and why they work. I read all these Forrest Mims selections before attending engineering school back in 1987. I still have them... I checked here on Amazon and you can still get them too. Most are cheap, a couple of bucks, and you get a great companion to this book I am reviewing.I just recently got an Arduino Uno R3...and wanted something to peek my idea generator and this book worked for me. You don't have to have a degree, just have to know how to read, have interest in the subject and the book will do the rest. Their explanation of how a transistor works alone is worth the price of the book. If you have a kid interested in electrical engineering- get them a book like this at a young age. It helps a lot.

I liked the gadgets in this book. They were fun to make and use. The explanations for the experiments were good and easy to follow.

Fun Book.

Good basic book. Not very costly. It brought me into the modern world of tech intrusions tools. I purchsed some anti survelliance tools after this to ensure my privacy, updated my password and take a little more care.

Was something a junior high student would do for a science project. So was disappointed in it, the author could have put more into it.

Love it! Tons of projects we will be working on as a family that offer a fun way to look at the science behind "spy gadgets"

Mostly useless based on technology from the 80s my phone can achieve a lot more
