Solid Brake Light for replacing my origina.
My original F-150 3rd brake-light had become dry-rotted somewhat. I bought the truck new in 2008 so this same brake light had been on the truck for 15 years, most of which, it was kept outside the garage. I needed this quickly and the shipping was fast. Actually got it 1 day earlier than expected. Installation was relatively smooth. The harness does work but I opted to not use the harness due to needing to remove the inner headliner where the harness connects. What I did do was cut the wires that lead to the bulbs, cut my old wires, and splice the cables to the original harness (Just Youtube for this "patching or splicing new 3rd light brake harness). The light itself improved my vision in the late afternoons during winter (gets dark quickly), when I have to back my truck into my driveway. I was shocked at how dim my old light had gotten compared to these new bulbs. And best of all, no more leaks in the cab (only had 1 small leak which is what made me realize my old one was cracked open). The fit is near perfect. I did add some silicone around the seal to help prolong the life of the seal. If you're okay with some light workarounds and have 30 minutes, this will work for you.

Good light, NO SPLICING WIRES- READ REVIEW
I have a 2005 ford F150. The harness IS COMPATIBLE, despite the other reviews. NO SPLICING WIRES. Under the metal lip in the top right side you will see two white plastic pins. Break them or push them in. They hold in the clip for the harness, and you will not be able to reach the harness clip otherwise. Be aware it can be surprizingly difficult (expect to curse a few times), but once its pushed in or snapped off its quite litterally plug and play. If you are confused on this- there is a youtube video a mid-aged dude made showing how to do this. Dont fool yourself. Use google if you dont understand my explanation. Light works great, and was easy to install otherwise.

Installation was successful with some extra work, due to part incompatibilities
Part arrived quickly and perfectly and is now installed and working. There were two challenges during the install: 1. The primary connector wouldn't pull through the opening in the roof because the cable was too short, requiring removal of the headliner in the cab to get to the connector, which I didn't want to do. 2. The lamp socket on the new part was a different design from the original part. In reading the comments from others and seeing one person that had the same issues, I decided to use their solution--keep the original cable in place and cut its wires to the lamps, cut the lamp sockets off the new part, solder the new lamp sockets onto the old cable. I used open barrel crimps rather than soldering and this all worked well. Then tested, everything worked. Then fastened the new part in place with the watertight seal between the part and the roof, and all that fit perfectly. In my case the installation wasn't as straightforward as plug it in and done. I had to do some wire cutting and adapting, which wasn't especially difficult since I have the tools and knowhow. For somebody that doesn't have those tools or knowledge and time available, they would have had to seek help or send the part back.
