My review of Tripp Lite 7 Outlet (6 Individually Controlled) Surge Protector Power Strip... I bought this mainly because each outlet has a switch to turn it on or off. It comes with seven outlets and a main power switch. There is one outlet that has constant power so you can turn off the main but still have power to one outlet. Each outlet switch lights up when its turned on so you know which outlet is active. I use this on my main entertainment system. I don't have any VCRs or CD players. I stream everything. I have a Beelink computer, lamp, TV, digital antenna with powered booster, and my USB charger on this strip. If i want to watch streaming channels I turn on the computer and the TV and the rest will stay off. If i just wanted to watch local digital TV, switch the TV and antenna on, the rest off. If it's at night, I turn on the lamp and the rest of it is off. If i need to charge my phone or any other USB item I use the constant on outlet and no need to turn the strip on. The only thing I don't like is the power plug. It's straight and not the flat angled type so you can't butt your furniture close to the wall. Other than that issue, it's great. I buy Tripp Lite products because of the reliability of the strip. It does not overheat like some strips do and it's internally protected against shorts and spikes from the power line. I highly recommend this product for your use and something to rely on as a high quality product.

For the past eight years, I've had a laptop that I wound up using as a desktop PC. I recently got myself a desktop PC to update and upgrade-the very PC I'm using to write this review now. I had several devices connected to the laptop: beatmaking devices such as an Ableton Push 2, a 32" TV, a wired keyboard, cordless rollerball mouse, a USB recording interface with two monitors, and so on. I had everything connected to a surge protector. When I was done with my work, I'd shut down the laptop and then turn off the surge protector I had all the devices plugged into. I don't think that practice is healthy for my new desktop. It's already told me, actually, in the form of disk checking a couple of times. But I want to keep the desktop on a surge protector for said device's namesake. This surge protector has given me the flexibility to keep my PC happy while still allowing me to power off all other devices. I have my PC's cord connected to this unit's "Always on" jack. As the name implies, this jack is always transmitting electricity, even if you have every single switch on this unit set to "Off". This means I won't keep cutting power completely to the PC. Yet, with a flick of this unit's master switch, I can turn off all of the other devices I have connected to this unit and to my PC. Furthermore, I have one jack free on this unit. I've plugged a USB charger into this jack. Normally, I have the switch to this jack set to "OFF". But if I want to charge my phone or another device that uses 5 volts, I can switch the jack on, charge the device, then switch the jack back off. This has proved to be an even nicer setup than I had with the laptop and my old surge protector! I can leave the few USB ports remaining on my PC open for data use and still have a means to charge a device when needed! I just hope this protector proves reliable when it comes to dealing with surges. While voltage does sag a lot at my house, we do get occasional voltage surges from utilities, and of course we do have a chance of surges anytime the power is knocked out, be it from an electrical storm or another cause like a vehicle hitting a power pole. But as of right now, I'm very pleased with this surge protector and would recommend it to anyone that needs a surge protector with such a feature set. Just remember, the "Always on" jack can never be turned off unless this surge protector is modified or is unplugged!

I have a lot of video game consoles, but unfortunately I only have so many outlets. I didn't want to keep unplugging and unplugging consoles while trying to keep track of which cable went to which console. This was a perfect solution for me because now I can individually switch on my TV and a single console when I'm ready to play. I ordered two: They both arrived on the same day, and they both worked great out of the box. It's more expensive than other power strips with individual switches, but Tripp Lite is a trustworthy name brand that I feel safe plugging my electronics into and also feel safe leaving plugged into my wall. It's hefty and feels durable just by holding it, and you can tell that it's not a cheap power strip. The cord is long enough to reach where I need it to go, and the size is just right for my entertainment center. My only minor complaint is the spacing between outlets is still a little tight, especially when using the large AC adapters that power older consoles, but I can live with it. Overall: My electronics (and my house) feels safe, it's way more convenient to use my consoles, and I don't have to worry about my devices sipping power when they're turned off. I'm very happy with it!

Excellent quality, made of solid plastic, good price. Seems durable. Long cord and enough outlets to connect most devices. Works perfectly. I would buy it again if I needed another one.

I'd buy again if the need arose. It's a very good product Tripp Lite but not excellent! Pros: ▪ Individual On/Off switched outlet control ▪ On / lit, Off / unlit. ▪ Also has an always on outlet ▪ A good reasonable surge protection with EMI/RFI filtering ▪ It can lower your electrical costs ▪ It's incredibly useful for charging my many mobile devices and to control various other electronic devices (lights, fans etc.). All the Tripp Lite products I've purchased in the past were excellent and outlasted my needs, but here are a few considerations for Tripp Lite: ✓ The outlets are much too close together. If the outlets could be rotated 90 degrees, some power chargers (which are wider than they are deep) would fit in a single outlet space. ✓ There's not enough space between each switch and the associated outlet, so the power charger sometimes overlaps the switch. ✓ The three-prong plug on this surge protector sticks out from the wall over an inch, which may limit where you can use it (a flat wall plug may be the fix). ✓ Plugging in any two or three-prong plug or charger can be tight and removing the plug or charger can be as difficult. Hopefully this fit will loosen over time. Since I can only fit three of my power chargers on this strip I decided to buy the Etekcity 10-Pack Power Extension Cords from Amazon. This will enable me to use all six outlets. But because I had to purchase these ext. cords to use all six outlets, you only get four stars Tripp Lite. FYI: Rosewill makes a power strip with individual on/off outlets (without surge protection) and another product sold by Cyberguys seems to be a very similar surge protector (to Tripp Lite) with individual on/off outlets and one always on.

This is mounted on a garage wall and sees regular use, including operating the individual switches. It’s in the cold and heat and dust. I’ve had it a year now and it works as it should. I went with this one for a few more bucks primarily because it’s a name brand. So far, so good.

This is the third one I have purchased, the first in April 2014, the second in December 2015 and now this one June 2019, the first two have been in continuous use, running perfectly, I have no doubt this third one will work just as flawlessly. I live 100% off grid on a small solar system (not grid tied), we run these from our power inverters into our various rooms to use as our power outlets, it's nice to be able to turn off each plug individually rather than having to unplug things. Most people aren't aware of "phantom loads", this is the electricity that is being used by the various items we tend to leave plugged in, even when said items are turned off, they are draining/using power. For those on the electric grid, this translates into higher electric bills, for those of us who are off grid, relying on solar and batteries, it eats away at the limited amount of power stored in our batteries, it's like having a leaky faucet, that little bit can really add up over time, especially if it's coming from multiple sources. We are upgrading our solar, adding to it, I will have multiple separate solar systems that power different parts of our home, with one of these power strips attached to each separate system. I intend to buy one or two more of these in the near future. I like that I can control each individual plug, I like that the cord is nice and thick/heavy, the plug itself is good quality. As you can see from the last photo (the one showing it in use), we have essentially mounted that power strip to the wall just under one of our power inverters on our power wall.

Bought another one to have 5 small power bricks (wall worts?) all plugged in at same time - thus one or the other is not misplaced or lost. I labeled each brick so we know what it is for, and can just flip the switch to recharge that item. Ends the frustration of "where is the charger for this tablet," etc. The 1st one has laptop, printer (in Always On slot), a small fan, a rechargeable DustBuster, and still room for more plugs. The Tripp Lite makes it so convenient to use one or more item at a time. We are enjoying using both of them. This Tripp Lite is medium gray in color, which I like better than usual white ones. It has a heavy weight 6 foot cord with a 3-prong plug. The only caution I would give you about this product is that it is very BIG - length is about 15", width about 2", height about 1-1/2". It is heavy. I like that because it doesn't "walk" due to vibrations in the room (people walking, etc.) but stays where you put it. Lighter power strips I've had did "walk". So before you order it, figure out where you will be using it. Will it fit? We are certainly happy with our purchases and are now happy we have a 2nd one. Visitors that have seen them end up ordering one.. Expensive for a power strip? For me, "yes", but it is so well made and sturdy, I'm sure it will last many years. Our first one was bought over two years ago - and never a problem with it. If you need a good power strip/surge protector, I would recommend you try the Tripp Lite. As I said, just make sure it will fit where you want to use it.

Lo principal es poder apagar y prender independientemente algunos de los artículos conectados. Dos comentarios, aunque están en publicaciones diferentes, adquirí uno negro y uno blanco/gris, el que parece blanco, es totalmente gris (no me pareció visualmente bonito). Tiene un detalle, si lo piensas fijar a un mueble o pared., solo tiene dos orificios para este propósito y están del mismo lado, muy a la orilla (a la altura, detrás, de los apagadores), yo siento que no puedo desconectar algún enchufe "apretado" sin sentir que puedo quebrar los orificios porque hacen palanca, tengo que sujetarla con las manos antes de desconectar algo (otras barras tienen cuatro orificios y aunque solo uso dos, los uso contrarios y no provoca esa "debilidad").

This powerbar is reliable and useful. Must have for aquariums w/ many plugs to avoid a "rat's nest" under the stand. The individual switches allows you to turn off exactly what you want without having to turn everything off. I also use smart plugs but it's also convenient to be able to open the stand door and quickly turn off something without having to go in an app, although I use both. Excellent product overall.

I originally purchased a pair of these outlet strips in 2018 for use with my television stand: I collect retro videogame consoles and wanted an easy way to connect and disconnect power to everything when not in use without having to just unplug everything and leave cables loose. An outlet strip with individual switches controlling each outlet is the perfect solution to that. The quality is excellent: the mainbody is is sturdy plastic, the outlets are tight, the switches securely stay in the position they're left in, and the 6 foot cable is very thick and well protected. Each switch is illuminated when powered to make it easier. My only complaint toward this product is that the cable can be difficult to manage; It sticks straight out the end of the strip with no included way of running it out of any other side of the strip, and the plug is very bulky. It's not particularly difficult to compensate for these issues but they are something to be aware of if you're using this product. I've since purchased another FIVE of these strips for other uses around the house, and will probably purchase another one next time I need a new outlet strip for something. Having a switch controlling each outlet may be unnecessary for some people but it's an excellent option for easily controlling how your electronics are powered. The only other products that I would consider for this purpose would be a rack mountable outlet bar, with outlets on the back and switches on the front, however those tend to be more expensive and more difficult to manage in an aesthetic manner.

This surge suppressor power bar comes with seven electric plug in outlets, one which is “power always on” and the six others that each have their own switch that can control the on and off function for it. There is also a master switch to turn power off or on for the entire power bar. There is a reset button. LCD lights shows the active powered area (power bar on, and for each active plug either the “always on” and/or each control switch outlet). There is also two other LCD status lights: the “protected” mode which means surge suppressor components are intact and providing surge protection and the 2nd indicating that unit is connected to a grounded wall outlet. The main reason we bought this power bar is for the switch control functions which allows us to turn on and off power to devices without shutting the entire power bar off. The “always on” plug is handy for those devices which you do not want to turn off like a clock radio etc. and you still have the security from power surges. The electric cord is heavy duty but more flexible than we have seen in some other surge suppressor. The entire unit looks well made. One drawback, is that we found the power bar difficult to attach to a wall. The placement holes on the back are not the easiest to align nor allow for a secure attachment. We definitely are finding this power bar to be advantageous for our purposes and would consider another one or two in the near future as long as we don’t require it to attach to a vertical surface. Would give this product a 4 ½ stars out of five because of the poor attachment arrangement but an overall five for usefulness, especially the separate control switches.
