Well worth it.
Great tool. Little heavier than expected. Makes short work of installs

The only tool for PEX-A expansion
This tool is awesome. It works great and is fast. The tool comes with expansion heads for 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch pex fittings. This kit has no battery or charger and since there were Dewalt batteries in my shop it made sense to get the bare tool. Plumbed an entire utility room with a pex manifold only took about 2 hours and would have been an all day job in copper. The hand operated tool is good for a here and there but not as good for 50 connections on a full re-plumbing job and this power expansion tool makes this job seem way too easy. Thats a good thing. Be sure to keep the cone portion of the tool clean and lubed with the special lubricant which comes in the tube. Remove the expansion head and clean the inside of the expansion head and the cone and apply lube. If you use too much lubricant then it will seep through the expansion head and get inside the pex tubing which does not seem to be an issue. Just wipe off the expansion head of the excess and keep working. Too little lubricant would shorten the life of the expansion head. It also has a hook that you can mount on either side and the head comes with a hook already. The hook on the head seemed a bit unhandy to use and preferred to use the hook mounted at the battery end of the tool and it made for a more natural grip when reaching for the tool when hung on your tool belt. Milwaukee makes a tool and seems like the head of the tools are identical. One may directly compare the two and for my use it made more sense to maintain battery compatibility.

Extremely useful tool! Lasted through many many Jobs
I cant recommend this enough to people who are considering this. This tool outlasted my initial uses for it and has come in handy many times over afterwards in helping other people too. I did end up with a small issue with battery holding onto the item after so much use but it does not impact the use or speed once you secure the battery by any means.

Saves so much time - definitely worth it.
It was much cheaper than the Milwaukee brand and works so well. The only issue is it doesn't come with a battery, so you need to have Dewalt batteries. I already have 3 so didn't need one and saved money not having to buy the battery. There's no way I could do my pex plumbing without this thing. I started out with a manual expander and while it's a good workout, not feasible for doing more than 5 connectors a day - you too muscle fatigues with the manual expanders. Each extender takes like 15 seconds and you just pull the trigger. Can't believe I waited so long to buy it.

What a great tool, PEX-a all the way.
I have a Dewalt battery, so getting this over the Milwaukee version was an easy choice. I canโt talk enough about how easy this has made plumbing. It gets almost anywhere a crimper tool can get and some new places; you donโt have to pull apart handles to work the tool. I replumbed half of a house using it and the only thing that leaked was an NPT connection that tied into old work. Iโll probably use a Sharkbite next time for the old work. The kit includes three heads, 1/2, 3/4, 1 inch. The video I included with this review shows the 3/4 head. They screw on easy enough. You should apply the included grease when changing fittings. The trigger is huge and easy to use. The case is for-purpose and nice to have. This isnโt like a hammer or screwdriver; unless you plumb often youโll want something for longer storage between use. The only two things that I could complain about with this type of PEX (a or expansion) is the availability of fittings in local stores (only Lowes seems to carry them), and trying to find a place to put the tool after youโve expanded. The belt clip helps with that, but itโs heavy. It is best to plan a location to set the tool.

Works as expected, with one flaw
Works as expected, with the exception of the 3/4" jaws. It left me stuck in a fitting and I had to cut my way out. It'll work if you unscrew it 1.5 turns, but I shouldn't have to do that. Otherwise, it's a great time and back saving tool.

This is pro-grade DeWALT tool!
Oh yes, it does what it's supposed to and does it perfectly. Very easy to make Pex-A connections in seconds. Save thousands by doing not-so-hard-to-do piping by yourself! I've upgraded my basement water (cold/hot) supply pipes from 1/2" copper to 3/4" Pex-A using the tool. Replaced kitchen sink pipes too.

Great tool
Iโve been using pex b for a while now and decided to go to pex a. This tool has made joining pex so much easier. I look for places to use this now. I want to change out all of my plumbing to use pex a now. Great tool.

Expander works exactly as described. God quality, solid product. Description is a little vague on what you get in the tool only set - comes with the tool, 1/2", 3/4" and 1" heads and food safe grease in a really solid case. Have already used it on Uponor pipe / rings and had solid connections with no leaks. Takes about 11 expansions to give you the 10 seconds or so you need to align on the EP or Brass fittings. One issue I had is that it came with two 1/2" heads and a 1". Called Amazon and, after going through a few agents, they immediately sent out a replacement product at no cost which arrived within 2 days, and I called on a weekend. New product was fine. Only annoying issue with the tool which many have commented on is the light. Stays on for about 3 mins which is both useless and annoying. None of my other DeWalt tools do this. Guess once the warranty expires I can cut the wires. Unclipping the battery and locking it in again turns the light off. No idea if this really makes a difference to battery life, just a picky design flaw. We have the Milwaukee version at work and I would say the DeWalt is equal, heads are also interchangeable. All comes down to which tool sets you own. Would recommend this product.

First the plumbing shop stated I would need to hire a plumber with the "special 5000 dollar" spreader. Then thanks to YouTube found out that a homeowner could easily do the job yourself. Selected the unit without battery and charger as it worked with all my other Dewalt tools. Little bit of a learning curve but wow, this tool is sooooooo slick and easy to use. Well built and extremely very HD. Would recommend this tool very highly for all doing their own Wirsbo-Pex water applications. I am even going to use the 1" collar for air lines in my shop. Great choice on this one.
