Well built & accurate
Exactly what I was looking for. Provide, easy setup, & simple to use. I lay down painters tape on project first and the attaché with double back tape. Doesn’t move and I get a tear out free cut.

First Impressions of Varijig--A comedy of errors
First, please bear in mind I'm fairly inexperienced at woodworking. My ambitions are larger than my abilities. Ok, so I get my Varijig. I take it out to the shop and try it out. First thing I discover is you must use router bushings with this tool. You cannot use a pattern following bit because the extrusion is too thick. The bearing edge width on my pattern following bit is only a about 3/16".A The Varijig extrusion is about 1/2". The pattern following bit just seems too risky, although I admit I haven't tried it. Crap. Easy fix but it takes a day to get the proper equipment. In my absurdly large, old and heavy F2000E router that I bought 20+ years ago, I need a bit with at least 2" of cutting length to clear the the (1) nut that holds bushing in place to the bushing adapter plate and (2) the thickness of the Varijig extrusion. So I get all that set up and rout my first edge with the jig. Wow! Smooth, perfect, everything I could hope for. I go for the second edge...disaster. Somehow, for reasons I haven't yet fully figured out, the router CUT INTO my jig extrusion, badly damaging it, and making a mess out of my workpiece. Not Trend's fault, I'll order a new extrusion to replace it, but in the meanwhile I will just flip it over and use the undamaged edge, after spending the evening contemplating how in the heck that happened in the first place. I think I figured out my error with the jig, so it's NOT the Varijig's fault. A couple of nitpicks: First, the please make the nut plates used to secure the frame connector plates (?) to the extrusions so that two of them put together automatically equal the exact width of the hole spacing in the connector plates. Also, Trend would be doing its users a great favor if hey replaced the tiny little screws used to hold the connector plates to the nut plates with trapped screws, so that once installed they don't come out. Lastly, the custom made clamps that slide into the extrusion are absolutely necessary, buy 4 of them (they come in sets of two). Trying to hold it place with other clamps is just awkward as hell. So it's a good tool but not the be all end all I was hoping for. I guess I'll have to develop skills...sigh.

As advertised
Did the job for my cutting board

Good, but you need the clamps to make it work properly
Claps for the Varijig are an extra cost, and they’re a valuable addition to the jig. 3* because the clamps are nearly $50 extra

Great tool!
This jig is amazing! It is perfect for making square cuts. It is precise and easy to use. Stop making your own sketchy jigs and purchase this one. It's a great addition to any woodworking shop!

Arms rack so badly that even rough adjustments are frustrating--cheap and bad design.
From the moment I got this jig assembled, I knew it was garbage. I do a lot of template routing with router bushings by making my own templates of ply or MDF. This jig came recommended by Stumpy (what a disappointment) and it looked like a potential time saver for rectangular features. I tried every possible variation of adjustment screw tightness to try to get the arms to adjust without constantly racking in the slots and getting stuck. There is just too much slop in the fit of the flat nuts in the tracks to keep the arms reasonably square and running smoothly. Adjusting this jig is so frustrating that it's easier to just make the templates myself. Cheap, low precision design that just doesn't work well. Returning the item.

This jig is fantastic. It is a mind teaser to assemble
This jig is fantastic. It is a mind teaser to assemble, well at least it took some brain power on my part. I wish they made a smaller version of it for sizes around 3 - 6 inches. This tool has a place in my shop,

I had some interestingly-shaped holes to route and this jig helped me cut them to perfection. I suggest that you also get the clamps to hold the jig in place, but ordinary clamps work pretty well. The base of my routers allowed me to utilise the rise of the jig as a perfect boundary stop. Be careful with the screw fasteners as they are quite soft and a philips cross head can damage them quite easily when tightening or loosening the jig. Besides that, I found nothing to complain about (and I have used it a few times I would recommend this product.

Well made but so cunningly ingenious that initial assembly out of the box presents a slight challenge. Once that is mastered ( in 15 min or so in my case) flexibility of adjustment to infinite rectangular shapes and sizes and jig rigidity when locked into required shape and size makes this a most valuable and useful workshop addition for router machining. Highly recommended.

Très précis pour faire du bon travail. J'espère que les vis de serrage résisteront à la longue
