Works perfectly!
This is the 2nd time I ordered. The first one was the single bay but had to upgrade to dual bay. Maiwo never disappoints (so far).

I consolidated my raw video media onto 2 spinning hard drives and installed them into this enclosure. I like that it can provide RAID capability although I'm not using it. The drive spins down after a period of inactivity and have the typical spin up time when using them, that's not excessive though. This device helped me do away with drive docks and all the cables. I consider it an excellent option for archiving my data off the more expensive solid state drives that I use daily, it can get expensive when you have to store terabytes of data on SSD devices. Equipped with SSDs this device can easily be the working disk without noticeably slowing your system. I would buy this again.

This enclosure worked well for a few months but now I get constant disconnects and poor transfer speeds (40mb/s). Swapping cables did not change my connection or speed issues. The fan is noisy but does work. Some files have become corrupted on my drives.

Edit: Returned for a refund after 3 days. The USB controller was intermittent depending on the port being used. USB c - c was not functional under linux (unraid) at all, and hit/miss under windows 11. Connection via C - A seemed to function correctly under windows 11, but was flakey under Linux. As per the title, the included usb - C cable was not fully functional. Unraid didn't see the device at all, while windows could see the device and correctly identified it as an external drive of the correct size, but would throw an error when attempting to initialize the device. Switching to the c -> a usb cable resolved the issue and everything went well from there. Unfortunately I don't have a high speed c - c cable on hand so I'll have to order one in to verify that functionality. Once I got that worked out, the device worked as expected with a couple of 8TB drives in Raid 0. No complaints from my side on the quality of construction.... yes the guts are a plastic frame, but it's got a decent enough aluminum shell, and it looks/feels well built. Setting the raid function is easy enough.... install your drives, set the dip switches according to the images on the back of the device and then press/hold the recessed reset button until the lights switch to indicate the proper function.
