Awesome price for a good tool
This is a good quality, heavy-duty tool. If you don't know what it's for, you don't need it. If you do need it, this is a super bargain. I shopped everywhere. Including China. I think Amazon is going to win the sourcing war after finding this.

Excellent grind, good steel
Almost all things Engineer are excellent - have many of their products now and not one has been a disappointment. I grabbed this large reamer when I saw it on a super sale price. It's much nicer than any of the cheaper reamers from India or China. Grind is excellent, steel seems like a quality tool steel and doesn't show insta-wear after a couple holes. Keep in mind that these are meant for sheet metal or thin plate, not like automotive or construction reamers...used within their intended limits they'll last for a long time (mostly true for the cheapies as well). One review here says the handle is too loose in the hole. I've never owned one with a tighter fit (like tap handles, etc) but an easy fix is a couple thick rubber flat washers or panel grommets (or o-rings...but shorter lived) on one or both ends if you have trouble keeping the bar in there or want to store it that way.

Great quality, perfect for guitar headstock
I used this item to enlarge headstock holes for tuners on a budget guitar - to make them the "standard" size and use new tuners. Takes a bit of elbow grease (which isn't a bad thing, as you don't want to overdo it). Remember to go from both the front and the back to get a more even hole!Worked perfectly, new tuners fitted. Item itself is nice and sharp and seems to be very sturdy.

Extremely effective tool
I purchased this item as I had a 1590 style aluminium guitar pedal enclosure with a hole that needed enlarging by 3mm. The tool arrives in a cardboard-backed plastic wrapper and is pretty foolproof to use: you simply pass the detachable rod through the hole in the tool and rotate it.I'm not familiar with these kinds of tools and was expecting to have to spend a good part of 15mins twiddling the tool round and round but it literally took under a minute to get the job done and the resultant enlarged hole was very cleanly finished. I can't comment on how it compares to other similar tools or how it would fare with a harder material, but for my singular purpose I couldn't be happier with the result and would thoroughly recommend the item based on my experience.

Good quality!!!
Good quality and really sharp. Used to enlarge tuning key holes on a squier bullet strat, so that I could fit better quality tuners.Worked better than expected. Only took 15-20 minutes to do all 6 holes as like I said, it's very sharp and well made.

Does a good job for Acoustic Guitar pick up fitting
Great for that hole you need in the rear bout of an acoustic steel string. Average hole size you'll need is 12mm which this reamer goes up to... best to drill about a 10mm hole to start then using this reamer finish off slowly to the commonly required 12mm to fit your pickup socket. Totally recommended even if just for this one job.
