Wow! The Story Gets More Intense, the Battles More Epic, and the fate still up in the air!
The War continues in book #3, and it just keeps getting more and more intense. The ASHURs, the aliens, everything gets more intense and the backstabbing and political chicanery is just as interesting and epic as the big stomps mecha battles. We see more and more things that answer some questions but open the door to others. Characters continually have to step up and new challenges enter the fray. The war is far from over!

The tide turns
Humans develop better weapons and the aliens launch monster torpedoes! Some characters die. You feel a lot in this book. I’m excited to see where else this goes. Urahhh!!

I can't put it down!
Gritty action, great characters, and a world that feels real. Not much science fiction can pull off the near future and believable warfare, but Pardoe pulls it off in a fast-paced story that pulls you in further the more you read it.

a fantastic finish to a great beginning
This was a wonderful read. The characters are well developed and make you care about them, even if you hate them.

A Genre Game-Changer
Brent Evans' Land & Sea Series is a near-future, military sci-fi thriller. Author, Blaine Lee Pardoe is unbound and it shows on the page. Pardoe brings his well-honed writing, plotting and world-building craft to bear in constructing the stories of this alien versus humanity conflict. The series is an epic, world-spanning alien-initiated war seen from multiple perspectives. It reads like Joe Haldeman's quasi sci-fi frontline experience blended with a healthy dollop of vintage Tom Clancy techno-political world-building.Storm Surge, as well as the previous two novels in the series, is under-pinned by strong, well-fleshed out and engaging characters where visceral action is seamlessly meshed with poignant, apocalyptic drama and tense socio-political intrigue. Read this series!Recommended for fans of James Rollins, John Scalzi, Neal Stephenson, Harry Turtledove, and Daniel H. Wilson

A Turning Point?
With this the third installment of the Land and Sea story Mr. Pardoe has once again given us an excellent book. While the tension continues to rise with the introduction of new tech from both sides we see a glimmer of hope for the forces of humanity. Almost a battle of Coral Sea Moment if not Midway. The book also has several unexpected turns which I will not spoil. For those looking for action you will not be disappointed as the level of action in this book is what we have come to expect from the author. My biggest complaint isn't really a negative, but rather the mark of a good storyteller. That is of course that the moment I had turned the last page, I desired more!

The war against the alien Fish continues...
Can humanity adapt and overcome this new foe?LIn this third novel in the series, we follow the victories and defeats of many people fighting in their own ways. This book has the pacing of an action movie, with realistic (okay, sometimes a little science fictional) military tactics and gear, but above all, you get the feeling of walking along the side of those people and sharing their triumphs and losses.I can't recommend this book highly enough. I'm waiting anxiously for the next in the series, which is already preordered.

Great finish to the beginning trilogy of Land & Sea!
Storm Surge is a great finally to the opening trilogy of this new fictional universe, Land & Sea. It concludes many story archs that had me guessing as to what would happen with many characters. There are moments when the author makes you proud of characters and others that make you feel sad for what others go through. I can't wait to explore more of this amazing new IP! Thank you Blaine Lee Pardoe for your amazing writing and to the team at Creative Juggernaut for creating an intriguing fictional world!

The series keeps getting better.
This third book in the series is the best so far. It has some deeply emotionally difficult moments for the protagonists which it handles well, of course against the backdrop of horrific inter-species war.
