Problematic if your child learns the 2,3 and 5 time tables first
Like probably most children , my child (age 7, ks1) learned the 2,3 and five time tables first (this fact is even mentioned in the book). It would make sense therefore to start with these if you want to help a child struggling with time tables. The book however starts with the 10 times table but then goes straight into the 9 times table. Fine if you could ignore that and practice the time table you need in single chapters, but the book mixes all of them up. So if your child doesn't know for example yet 7x8 you either have to teach it on the spot or ignore it in the exercise. There are good explanations for every time table in the book but my daughter didn't want to learn all the other ones first in order to practice the three she already struggles with- obviously! Therefore I am disappointed from this book. So far we have more success with "Harry's magic time tables" which uses a different approach altogether but keeps her interested and engaged.

Wonderful!
My 9 year old daughter had great difficulty learning her times tables. She is dyslexic but this book is designed for any child who has difficulty or to help learn. This book demonstrates the bonds between the numbers and with 30 minutes per day for just over a week has transformed her knowledge and her confidence. Her maths teacher sent me an email yesterday commenting on the improvement since her return to school this week. This was straightforward to follow and worked really well! Would definately recommend it. Just wish I'd bought it earlier.

Helpful
My 10-year old is using this for math and loves the format. It helps to reinforce math facts. It is similar to the "Toe by Toe" book.

Parental input required but I'm now really good at multiplication and division too
Totally worth the money. Buy this book if your child could use help with times tables. Parental input required but I'm now really good at multiplication and division too. Win win!
