Yet it worked fine using the button in the Alexa App. I sent an email to Eufy customer support and very quickly got a response and after exchanging several emails and doing a few resets, it now works great. Still not exactly sure why it wasn't working in the first place, but I was very impressed with the level of customer service from Eufy. They have even checked back with me twice to make sure it's still working and to make sure I'm happy with the product. I would not hesitate to buy another product from them. Regarding the plug itself, I really like that it is small enough to only take up one outlet, has an on/off switch on the plug, is very economically priced and, so far, has not been "glitchie" like some of the other smart plugs I've had that would randomly disconnect from the network. Like before, setup was a breeze and each found my network within seconds and connected no problem. Both have functioned as advertised/expected with adherence to schedules and manual control. The plugs work -- and I'm thankful for the replacement (and have thus updated my review from 2 star to 4 star) and hope that the issue doesn't return after several months of use (7 months from purchase to issues). **************************************************** Review 11/16 I purchased two of these switches so that I could automate the lights in my 2 children's rooms. Each smart outlet plug controls a light that lets the kids know when to get up, and when its time to go to bed. When the outlets first arrived, they were very easy to setup. Blinking orange/blue lights let you know that it is ready to be paired/associated with your internet. Using the app -- all of this is a guided process. You select a 2.4Ghz network (sorry, won't work with 5Ghz), enter your password, give the device a nickname, and you're done. All is well. I even connected my Eufy account (and schedules that I setup in the app) to my Google account so I could utilize the Google Assistant functionality to turn on/off the plugs on an irregular cadence. Until... Suddenly, neither light wants to work. Let me elaborate. "Hey Google, turn on the Kids light" - to which it responds - "my apologies, looks like that light isn't set up". I confirmed that the account was still connected to Google, I remember updating both plugs with the most recent firmware several weeks ago, and I confirmed that the outlets had sufficient power to power appliances plugged into them. So, I deleted the plugs and attempted to re-pair them using the "reset process" steps in the app. "Hold the power button in for 5 seconds until the light blinks blue & then orange". I did this. twenty times. It still only blinks orange. Eventually, I got one plug(God only knows how) to reset -- I then clicked on my home network (dual band 2.4 & 5.0) and entered my password, only to now be told "sorry, 5.0 isn't supported" and it wouldn't let me continue...several more tries and for some reason I was able to bypass this error. I re-setup the schedule, confirmed the plug could be remotely controlled, and that it turned off at the correct time... Then...5am..."Daddy, is it time to get up?" UGH. I checked the schedule. It shouldn't turn on until 7.15am. Why on earth is it 2 hours early? As of now, both units sit beside my computer -- useless. 1 can not be connected to at all, and the other has failed to uphold the schedule that I set for it. Do yourself a favor -- skip these. Eufy, please, prove me wrong.
