Washable Silk Breast Pads (6 Pieces)

Great natural product
I bought these as an alternative to disposable breast pads which I found stuck to my very sore and bleeding nipples when I'd just started breastfeeding my newborn son. I gave them 4 stars because the silk is so much gentler on the skin, and they're discreet to wear. Two cons though - they're flat, which breasts aren't! So I cut a V shape out of them and sewed them back together, resulting in a more cone shape which fits me better. Perhaps flat pads fit larger breasts better. Also in terms of absorbency they're not great, but it's possible to put a disposable pad behind them to catch any leaks. However i find that they generally put enough pressure on the nipple so that even if you feel a strong let down, they tend not to let the milk flow out much. I use them between feeds, but wouldn't rely on them to absorb all i leak from the other breast while feeding, or overnight. They're good at staying in place, and easy to rinse through by hand and they keep their shape.

Soft but don't hold much
I found that these were great for the weeks before I gave birth as I was leaking a little bit but nowhere near enough to warrant using a disposable. They are very soft against your nipples which is great for when they're sore, but once my milk had come in if I wanted to use them I had to put a disposable behind it as they don't hold much milk. If I'm not leaking much then they're fine but if its heavier then they're not so good but the trouble is you don't often know how much you're going to leak at any given time. So basically if you don't leak much then they're great but if you leak a lot I recommend the lansinoh ones, expensive but they hold ALOT.

Love the silk but they don't absorb much
I mainly bought these for the silk, I get eczema and cracked nipples so I need something which doesn't leave fibres stuck to my nipples! However, unfortunately they hardly absorb any milk at all so I have to use a pair of disposables layered behind them. Worth it for the silk but don't expect to be able to use these alone.

Soft but leaky!
The silk was soft on sore nipples, but the pads are quite small and not leakproof enough for me - soaked through at the first feed.

Loving them
They are really silky smooth and comfortable... The only negative I can think of is that they move during the night so sometimes I leak anyway and they are very visible if you use non-padded bras like me.

Highly recommended product!
I have been using these while nursing my two children, and I have been so pleased with them. Silk is a natural inflammatory and helps reduce discomfort especially during the first weeks of breastfeeding. They are so easy to wash in the net provided and dry very quickly, and they last a very long time. I can recommend these to any new mum!

Comfort for sore nipples, post WLE to treat breast cancer
I underwent a WLE 3 months ago to treat breast cancer. The procedure involved surgically removing the nipple, then re-attaching. Post surgery I have been experiencing discomfort and lots of unpleasant sensitivity. These silk breast pads have really helped by reducing the friction between the skin and my bra. I've also used one doubled up under the breast to reduce the discomfort caused by radiotherapy burns.

happy
A good product, so much so I ordered another. Fabric is nice on the skin, absorbancy is good and quality good too. You will get some leakage from heavy flow as with any of but can use two pads.
