UPDATE 10/23/2024:After posting the initial review, I was contacted by the seller and was offered a full refund without having to return the item. I requested for a replacement instead and they are sending one. I will post another update upon receipt and trial of the replacement.Purchased in Jan 2024 and worked as designed. I use it for teaching and professional purposes connecting the adaptor to a projector via HDMI and shoot tethered to photography software all at the same time. Approximately 7 months after purchase, I noticed that one USB port would not work consistently, and more recently, when connecting via HDMI, my laptop OS freezes (spinning ball) until I disconnect.

This works great on my MacBook Air. It is an easy plug and play. The one thing that does not work with it is my Apple CD Drive, which is disappointing. It is USB but the laptop will not recognize it when plugged in. That's my only complaint about it.

Very useful

I got a new Mac which only had a USB C ports (4) - I am now able to use all my old accessories with my new Mac. There are other options on the market but for me this was the best price option to meet my needs.

The SD and MicroSD reader stopped working after a month a half. When it stopped working it completely erased the data on one of my SD cards. After reformatting it, I tried on an alternate usb-c hub and the SD card was still instantly recognized. I have since tried plugging a separate SD and MicroSD into the slots and neither are picked up.

A True Upgrade⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I replaced my old one with this, and the difference is huge.
