Books are Best!
Excellent gift. Great book for for young people. I gave this a Christmas present and it received great reviews. Now that Baseball season is just around the corner he's asking for more of the same. It's a fun read and allows the young person to enjoy fun and excitement and use their imagination for a change within the wholesome context of Baseball, America's once and always pastime.

My 11 year old son enjoyed the book... Not easy to get him a good read, but he loves baseball, and this book was thoroughly enjoyable.

Best book I’ve ever read
I loved the book because of all the thought the author puts into the book. I love how the author explains so much thought into one book

made me cry with happiness
i'm not a baseball fan but this little story drew me in. the characters had charm and wit. There was a magical, or was it spiritual, force influenceing events which I found inspiring. I had been planning a trip to Boston with my nephew so right away I sent him a copy of the book, We'll be at Fenway in June.

Energy To Overcome Circumstances
Reading Fenway Fever reminds me of the good old days when I was a kid in love with baseball. A couple of bucks in my pocket and nothing could keep me away from a visit to the ball park. That's what Stats Pagano is all about: hot dogs, baseball, and a statistical mind to support his Boston Red Sox in addition to his favorite player-pitcher Orbitt. In spite of his love for the game, Stats experienced other setbacks like we all do in life. The family business, a hot dog stand parked outside of Fenway Park that for years served the best hot dogs in town to many baseball fans was losing money. The Red Sox were on a losing streak and again felt like they were crippled by the Curse of the Bambino. But with setbacks comes solutions. With magic sweeping over everybody with feelings of true loyalty, Stats, in spite of his own physical limitations, had a plan that would eventually spread like a fever with renewed energy to overcome all the negative circumstances.John H. Ritter does an excellent job using a baseball platform to write this tear-jerking story filled with many happy and sad moments. This is a story that kids of all ages will like. Marvin P. Ferguson, author of THE UNKNOWN BASEBALL PLAYER.

Hits it out of the park
The best sports novels don't require an intimate knowledge of the specific sport, because they are really about life. In fact, "Fenway Fever" might confuse young people especially knowledgeable about the 2012 Red Sox, as this is a fictional team led by eccentric pitcher Billee Orbitt, supposedly playing for Boston during Fenway Park's 100th anniversary year. Billee's #1 fan is 12-year-old "Stats" Pagano, a small-statured statistical genius who lives for his beloved Sox. Stats's family runs a hot dog stand outside the park, but Pops is in danger of having to sell the business to pay old medical bills. Billee is also in trouble. Has the Curse, the legendary bad energy, returned to Fenway? Can Stats and Billee's summer solstice mission restore balance to the park? The friendship between Stats and Billee, two characters "who are only just sort of normal and also sort of weird," is fanciful and touching. Pops's relationship with his sons, Stats and 15-year-old shortstop phenom Mark, is completely realistic. And the ending of "Fenway Fever" will warm anyone's heart, even a Yankee fan's.(A version of this review appeared in the "Palo Alto Weekly.")
