A love story at its core, THE YELLOW HANDKERCHIEF is about three strangers of two generations who embark on a road trip through post-Katrina Louisiana. Along the way, relationships forge and change in a myriad of ways, leading to the possibility of second chances at life and love. The film is loosely based on a short story by renowned writer Pete Hamill. Brett Hanson (William Hurt) is an ex-convict, just released from prison after serving six years for manslaughter and now adrift in a world of new freedoms and responsibilities. Finding initial difficulties in reconciling himself to a troubled past, Brett crosses paths with lonely and troubled teenager Martine (Kristen Stewart) and her new 'ride' Gordy (Eddie Redmayne). The trio head out in the same car and direction Martine to cut loose and get away from her family, Gordy to get closer to Martine, and Brett, who must decide whether he wants to return to his troubled past and an uncertainty with May (Maria Bello), the woman he left behind. Review: A beautiful movie with excellent cast. - A truly beautiful story that left me really happy, all the cast were amazing and overall the movie flowed easily all throughout. I highly recommend this movie I'm a big movie fan and I haven't watched one in a long time that made me genuinely happy. The story is believable and engaging. It's nice to see the struggle for love in a realistic drama with good dialog. Three lonely strangers each with problems of their own set off on a trip to New Orleans for different reasons. As one is struggling to connect again with his former girlfriend ( Maria Bello ) after the serving a prison sentence as consequence of the trauma of loosing an unborne child, the other two are slowly seeking the support of each other. The young girl ( Kristen Stuart ) feels unwanted of everyone and just wants to get away while the boy ( Eddie Redmayne ) just wants to see some more of the world. I can really recommend this movie.

A beautiful movie with excellent cast.
A truly beautiful story that left me really happy, all the cast were amazing and overall the movie flowed easily all throughout. I highly recommend this movie I'm a big movie fan and I haven't watched one in a long time that made me genuinely happy.

An enjoyable movie
I really enjoyed this movie.the cast was really good and the acting by all was believable.it is slow but not all films have to be noisy fast pace films.worth watching

Yellow Handkerchief
The primary reason I chose this film is due to the fact that Eddie Redmayne takes on one of the title roles, and I must say he was brilliant! I was extremely impressed with the other two who also portrayed very emotionally engaging characters which made the film extremely enjoyable, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that Kristen Stewart can actually act and show some depth. This is not an action packed, fast paced film but rather an engaging journey that sees three unlikely strangers become friends. I would highly recommend.

Absolute tripe, don't waste your time our money
If it was possible too give this junk zero stars i would have. No story, everyone is waiting for the others to react. Can't believe I wasted more than 2 minutes of my life in this. Kept expecting it to get better - it didn't

sono riuscita a trovarlo solo in lingua originale e senza sottotitoli ma era il film che cercavo da anni, quindi contentissima e la mia attrice preferita al momento. bravissimi anche gli altri attori . willliam hurt un mostro di bravura , eddie redmayne sempre bello.... qui molto bello e bravo .....

Love this early Kristen Stewart film. Received film two weeks early and film was in super shape for a Used copy. Would buy from this seller again. (gamerudy)

This movie is just beautiful! Maria Bello is wonderful (as always!) and William Hurt is definitely doing great there too! The story is very loving and moving, flashbacks and reality are perfectly intertwined. Loved it a lot! BUT I had to buy the DVD from somewhere else because it was listed as "good" except that I hadn't been able to see past the first 5 minutes of the movie... the DVD is not "good" it is scratched! So I have lost $12...
