We bought this desk for our 9 yr old daughter's room. We had been on a mission to find a desk that would be sturdy and delivered quickly. To no avail, I stumbled upon this beauty. I was a little skeptical in the beginning and thought that we would probably end up with some cheap particle board that was unsteady and hard to assemble. But, this desk exceeded our expectations. It delivered within a weeks time, and wasn't that hard to assemble at all. The quality of the deak is what really surprised me. It's heavy and extremely sturdy And it's just a beautiful desk that my daughter loves. We are so fortunate to have found such a great buy!

For all those complaining, it's a $96.00 desk! What do you expect, an antique masterpiece? For what I paid, I am very happy. It looks like my friend's $2000 desk from Restoration Hardware, and although the materials are not the same, and it is made cheaper, unless you abuse it, it will last. The desk took a couple hours to put together with ease and the directions were clear and easy to follow..... and to the people complaining that pieces are mislabeled and you couldn't put it together, all i can say is, for the 2 parts that were labeled differently (the code was mislabeled on the part but the name wasn't so not really a mislabeling), it was very obvious where the parts went anyways, and if you still couldn't figure it out they have online videos. All in all, it's a sturdy, nice looking desk, a superb value, and the company is American, so I would highly recommend. I wasn't paid a penny for this review, didn't get any incentive to write it, and paid full price for the desk.

I'll start with the problems --(1) As other reviewers noted, the back is not finished; it's just particle board, so you may find it unattractive if you do not put it against a wall. I stained the back myself, which made it look OK, though not great.(2) The oak veneer is extremely easy to damage, and will wear down to particle board over time with daily use. I've had mine for about five years, and there are several patches where there is no more veneer.(3) It is very heavy and its joints are relatively fragile. It is normally in no danger of collapse, but our movers had a hard time with it, and one of them dropped it lightly, causing the side to separate. I was able to repair it with L brackets, however.On the other hand --It looked nice starting out, and is quite a solid piece of furniture when stationary. My cat jumps on the keyboard tray all the time, and it supports her weight easily. The concealment of the keyboard tray in a drawer makes it look tidy, and it offers a lot of work space without being bulky. The tray is at a comfortable height for typing, and it has space for both a mousepad and a keyboard. There is easily space underneath of the desk for a desktop tower, even if the computer is mounted on something to keep it off the floor.Summary -- Though I am slightly disappointed with how shabby it has come to look over time, I would certainly buy again. For the price, it is a functionally useful desk that offers both a large work surface and a good set up for a desktop computer.

I ordered this desk 6 months ago, and so far it's been great! I am on online student, and I study from home. I am at this desk every single day. It's a good size and has just enough space for everything I do. I spilled my tea on it one day, and it cleaned up super easy. Even when I found spots day later, it cleaned up nice. No stains or anything. There is a tiny scratch on in and I have no idea where it came from, but it's not too noticeable. It is a good looking desk and is sturdy and functional. Overall, it was a good purchased

This desk looks beautiful in my daughter's at home "dorm room". It was a long process to put it together but I am a 5 foot tall 50 year old woman and I did it all by myself in about 3 hours. The directions were extremely clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend this product, very sturdy and high quality. Great value.

It was relatively easy for this old lady to put together without help.Looks good after getting it assembled and set where I wanted it.It seems sturdy as far as the legs, frame, top go.The side drawer seems fine and works good. Just be sure to follow instructions to a T.As for the slide out for the keyboard, it would have been better to have made a solid drawer like the other one. After pulling the tray out and opening the front to use the key board, the screws are now stripping and has revealed the particle board that is already crumbling. I don't have the box, so am stuck with it. I put my keyboard on top of the desk and will figure out a way to redo that so it is a drawer without the hinges. I'll build a drawer using the front and the slides.I am disappointed with Sauder. Been buying their products for years because they use to be manufactured in the USA, this desk was made in China.

I love the desk the color is great and goes great with my room its really easy to put together and only takes about an hour which isn't that bad its very stable you just have to put together correctly haven't had any issues with the desk and its not to big or small its the perfect size its on the pricy side but still better than paying hundreds of dollars getting it from a furniture store so it was worth it and the shipping was great it was supposed to come next month but updated to friday the week after i ordered it but came two days earlier and I'm not mad about it haha and I'm just glad it wasn't a scam

I needed something simple and that would match my cabinets in my art studio and wouldn't break the bank so I got this desk. My husband and I put it together in 20 min. It is a nice desk for the price. I was expecting flimsy by some of the reviews but it is actually nice and sturdy. For the price you can't beat it. I recommend this desk. It looks great, is easy to put together and is sturdy. I have my monitor and printer on it with a label maker and there is still plenty of space on top. I liked that it had the key board draw and a side draw which is all I really needed. So Yes great desk.
