Sounds great I got a very good price if you look at other sellers, buy Amazon. Easy to use and setup really is a good sound either watching tv or listening to music. Came on time nicely packaged.

The kit arrived in a very minimalist box - just a cardboard box a bit like an oversized egg box which is absolutely fine by me - I'm all for the least packaging possible. On opening everything is there, again, very minimalist, it has a cool vibe and the neutral coloured cloth on the outer means it can sit unobtrusively in any room just doing its thing. The instructions are also minimal, which again is fine, just get the QR code and link to your chosen device and it works straight out of the box, no cables, minimal set up. Perfect. Charging is via USB C and a full charge gets you about 30 hours of play. Spot on. The cable is supplied but the charger isn't - irritating, but we have a house full of appropriate chargers so no biggie. Our main tv doesn't do Bluetooth - it's not even all that old, but Bluetooth is a no no. That doesn't really bother me, I want this for other purposes. How will this be used in our house? • My husband likes to watch aircraft videos - fighters, bombers, Dreamliners, 747, A300, you name it he watches it via YouTube on either an iPad or second tv, this links perfectly with both of those and he can sit there to his heart's content listening to engine noise (each to their own). • Music playback - either indoors or outdoors at barbecues, this is perfect for that. I had a Bose SoundDock and cables with an iPod for years, now I have this and an iPhone and no cables - time moves on. but my musical tastes are still about the same. The small speakers can detach to be placed around the room so everyone can hear the music (or aircraft) at an appropriate level. I'd have liked a bit more ability to 'tweak' sound quality - you can alter bass but that's about it (maybe I'm missing something, more testing required). Like most things, the better the quality going in the better the quality coming out, so if you have a ropey recording it won't come out as crisp as it could be, but over all I'm happy. I love it, I think the sound quality is excellent and I'm more than happy with the versatility and mobility of this piece of kit. A bit more connectivity would be nice, it's a shame it's only Bluetooth, but that's the way of the world. Yes it's expensive, £499 (as at 8 September 2023) but it's a new product and you pay a premium for newness, I'd expect the price to drop somewhat over the next year or so.

The Sony portable theatre system is presented exquisitely in a compact oval-shaped box. Upon unboxing the main unit from the box, I could tell that the build quality was excellent, with fabric material covering both the main unit and rear speakers. There is quite a heft to the main unit as well. After switching it on, downloading the app, pairing it to my phone and PC, and then playing some music, I was struck by the sound sounding rather flat. I went into the app settings to see what sound parameters were available and what could be adjusted, but, to my surprise, there wasn't much there that could enhance the rather flat and dull sound. There is a bass control and volume for the rear speakers, and a main volume control, and that is about it, except, of course, for the spatial setting. I was a bit disappointed that there was no treble control or EQ to control the sound. As such, I was underwhelmed overall with the sound quality. Positioning the little speakers behind me when playing music or movies was quite a mixed bag. Sometimes I could not hear the little speakers, even with the volume up full and with the spatial setting on. I found that some types of music could be heard with the little speakers, but with other music, it sounded like the sound was only coming from the main unit. I had to put the small speakers to my ears to know that sound was coming from them, no matter how I positioned them. I played some movies on my iPad, and although the sound is much fuller than my iPad speakers, I was still underwhelmed with the quality. I found myself constantly positioning the speakers in different ways and adjusting settings depending on what type of audio was coming from the movie, whether speech or music or a mixture. Overall, it's not a bad system, and you will certainly get better sound quality than from the built-in speakers on various devices like tablets, etc. Personally, I would have expected a much richer and more immersive sound quality from this unit. That being said, Sony may update the software and firmware that could improve the sound quality and perhaps add more features to give more freedom in adjusting audio parameters.

This is a great sound system from Sony. I love the design of it, a classy, kind of minimalistic look in a nice grey colour that will work well in most living spaces. It's easy to setup and use, just scan the QR code on your phone and install the app. The sound quality is great and while it does lack a little base compared to some of the larger audio systems I think it's pretty good. The real issue is that I'm unsure who this is targeting. Given its price range it's competing against some pretty good dedicated home audio setups which means the primary target for this must be for those who want high end audio on the go. The trouble there is that even though this is portable, you still have to be in the right kind of environment to be able to position the mini speakers in the right positions for spatial audio. It's definitely better than most portable audio systems but that comes with a steep price tag which matters when you may not be able to get the full benefit when using it in different locations. Overall though it's a brilliant little sound system if you have a specific need for something like this,

Le produit est cher, mais moi qui cherchait un système sonore totalement sans fils, je suis ravi ! L'effet spatial est très bon, et l'autonomie des enceintes permet plusieurs soirées de projection sans devoir recharger. Il s'agit d'un produit de niche, mais je valide +++

Ottima riproduzione sonora per le mie esigenze e, essendo un dispositivo che si può collegare a smartphone, tablet e pc tramite bluetooth e, posizionabile facilmente in qualsiasi luogo del proprio appartamento molto comodo e versatile: 5 stelle più che meritate perchè Sony ha fatto centro per l’ennesima volta: bravi!!!

I like the speakers. It's from great quality and the surround system works great. It's definatelly not a joy, you pay much but you get a piece of art which produces great sounds. Really good work from Sony, I didn't expect it like this. The bad is that you get only 2 years warranty, 3 years would be better. But I bought it from Amazon when it was discounted and I'm familiar with Amazon about warranies, they support a good warranty. So no worries for 2 years. I'm really satisfied with my purchase!
