Math educator Kate Snow gives parents the tools they need to teach Math with Confidence . This scripted, open-and-go program leads parents step-by-step through teaching all the concepts second-graders need to master: reading, writing, and comparing numbers to 1000 adding and subtracting two- and three-digit numbers solving addition and subtraction word problems telling time, counting money, measuring length reading graphs, identifying shapes, and understanding simple fractions Short, lively lessons will hold a childโs attention by incorporating hands-on activities, games, and real-life situations. Straightforward, colorful worksheets give students practice with new concepts and review previously-learned material. Snow makes math fun by including optional enrichment lessons, with suggestions for wonderful math picture books to enjoy together and application activities to make math come alive. Beyond just telling parents what to do, Second Grade Math with Confidence also helps them understand why the lessons are designed the way they are, giving them the knowledge and confidence to help their children learn. Using Second Grade Math with Confidence will allow parents to build a strong math foundation for their children. Age Range: 7 to 8 Grade: Second Grade Review: Fantastic curriculum! - I would absolutely recommend Kate Snow and her various math curricula. I had been using Masterbooks with my daughter and as she was going into second grade I felt like she was behind, especially in her addition facts. After some quick googling I stumbled across Addition Facts That Stick. It was affordable so I decided to give it a try. We were immediately hooked. The games were so much fun and she made such good progress right away. I looked into Kate Snowโs other curriculum options, and I decided to try out her Math With Confidence for first grade on my second daughter while my first daughter and I were still working on Addition Facts That Stick. I loved the first grade curriculum so much that shortly afterwards I bought the second grade set. The curriculum is robust without being at all overwhelming, which is extremely important to me because my oldest definitely gets overwhelmed easily. The lessons are completely scripted, and of course you can make changes for creativity, but it tells you exactly how to teach the math concept. The teacher book recommends that you assemble a โmath kitโ before starting, and it also recommends getting a binder and page protectors for some of the pages that you will need to reuse throughout the year - game boards, reference sheets, that sort of thing. Assembling the math kit took hardly any time - I bought pattern blocks and base 10 blocks here on desertcart, and we had board game money lying around that we use for the money. Ruler, counters, index cards - nothing about the math kit was overwhelming. And having the binder + page protectors has been great. Are you a busy homeschooling mom who feels like you're always spinning like a top trying to put out fires, break up fights, change diapers, wipe away tears, keep people fed and happy, somewhat keep the house, and also somehow teach your children? Worried about a math curriculum that will ask you to go to the moon and back to get supplies together and be prepared? Don't worry - every single day I open it up having no idea what we are going to do for the day. I spend 25 seconds grabbing the things we will need from the math kit and the binder, and then we are ready to go. Lesson length will depend on the student, of course. My first grader is an eager learner and we go through the lesson and the double-sided workbook page in about 25 minutes. My second grader isโฆlet's just say much more easily distracted, interrupts a ton, goes on tangents, and would rather be anywhere but at the table learning. With her, it takes about 45 minutes, but I spend plenty of that time parenting her back on track, not just hammering math. The other day, my first grader only had one side of a workbook page to do because the other side was taken up by a game board for a new game we just played. She was legitimately disappointed that she only had one workbook page to do. The workbooks are colorful and beautiful, but not obnoxiously or unnecessarily so - they're kid friendly and fun without being garish, if that makes any sense. The units have their own color theme, so my daughters got to look forward to getting to the unit that is their favorite color. The workbooks are not overly girly or boyish - they're perfect for either (illustrations include robots, sports balls, flowers, candies, pom poms, goldfish, etc - things that will interest both boys and girls). We are on the final stretch of our homeschool year and we have loved both first and second grade Math With Confidence. We will absolutely be continuing with this program. I can't recommend it enough! Review: Exactly what we needed! - Fantastic curriculum - open and go, detailed direction, and short, fun lessons. My son and I are loving it so far. This is exactly was I was looking for!

Love this curriculum
My daughter struggled to understand maths concepts and got bored and frustrated very quickly with other curriculums, but since starting maths with confidence, she loves her maths lessons and can't wait to do them!

Preferred curriculum
This is our second year doing MWC. We started with BJU and it was painfully tedious. I love MWC and the kids enjoy and do well with it. Concise, efficient, easy to teach, easy to understand. I laminate/hole punch the Masters and games and keep them in a binder for quick access. We plan on MWC for third grade as well.
