This looks cheap from the pictures, but it actually very cool once put together. My son loved it and I'm considering going to this as a go to gift in the future. The light is not too bright, and you can put the pieces where they like, so they can customize it themselves.

My 8 year old son loves everything to do with the ocean including coral and shells. He was a disappointed at first that the diver didn’t come with the kit but later said it would have made it look too fake. He said he wouldn’t have added it anyway. He was so happy making it and continues to rearrange and rebuild it.

This was a lot of fun for my kids to put together. The light up features are really calming and the brightness can be adjusted. I gave 4 stars because it was missing the diver, which is really disappointing since its literally one of the main pieces.

My grandson was so excited to get this for Christmas! When we got it out to put it together he was not happy because the diver was not included!! He was very upset and so was I because I bought this particular one for the diver!!

It seems like a nice kit. It is a gift, so I hope the person loves it. However, the diver piece was missing. Thankfully, there is one aquarium store in my area and they had a mermaid figurine to replace the diver. Bummer tho as the little girl I'm gifting this too is not into girl things that why I chose the diver in the first place...

Although quite messy, my granddaughter really enjoyed building her terrarium. She is 9 and was able to get most of it done with only minimal assistance. The listing says for ages 3 and up. I'm not sure how well this project would fare with any child under the age of 6 just because of the messy factor. It's a nice project for allowing kids to be guided by their imagination. There's no one absolute way to design it, so kids are free to make it their own. The light worked as it should and really brings the terrarium to life. Definitely worth the money.

Bought this for my autistic nephew who’s special interest is oceans. It was missing the diver and the lid. He cried for 45 minutes and was devastated. Made for a great Christmas.Edit: re-ordered the item and there is STILL no diver.
