Rostio Tank rust remover 1 Liter plus Tank-protection Emulsion Tank Sealing Set, Tank Rust Removal

I purchased this product to try and restore the fuel tank of my latest motorcycle restoration, a 1991 Kawasaki Zephyr 550. The bike had been sitting in some chaps garage, having last been used in 1997, so some 21 years ago. The tank still had the remnants of fuel swilling about in the bottom, and a lot of thick rust. After draining the tank, the amount of rust and debris that came out was considerable, I really didn't think anything was going to shift the thick looking rust.However, after finding comments on the Internet regarding Rostio, I went looking for it and found it here on Amazon. It arrived in less than 1 week, very well packaged (and including comprehensive instructions) from the suppliers in Germany.Having already flushed the tank out with water to remove as much of the loose debris as possible, I added the Rostio solution, and an extra 9 litres of hot water. I fully intended leaving it for 5 or 6 days as the rust was so bad, but after only a couple of days you could see that a lot of the rust had gone. The only issue I had was that the 10 litres of fluid was not enough to fill the tank, so you could now see a tide mark of rust. I considered what to do and thought that I would just fill the tank with more hot water, and despite diluting the solution, just leave it a few more days to see what happened. After 2 more days the tide mark had gone, as had the rust!I drained the solution out, and flushed through with plenty of cold water, having removed the bungs for the fuel tap and sender, so I could really get as much out as possible. I then popped them back in and added the Rostio sealer. I gave the tank a good shake around for at least 5 minutes, so all of the inside of the tank was covered and then drained it out.Having left the tank to dry for a couple of days, you can see that the surface of the inside of the tank looks like grey metal. There's no sign of the rust at all !Overall, I'm very pleased with the product. The supplier was first class, the product easy to use, and the results better than I expected. I will most certainly use them again with whatever is my next restoration job!

I dont often write reviews but credit given where credit is due.Firstly I wish I had taken a before picture because to show just how effective the rust removal was.My bike had been sat for almost 20 years and the tank had, unsurprisingly, rusted on the inside and was contaminating new fuel.I ordered this on a Sunday and it arrived well packaged from Germany on Wednesday.It came with English instructions so was easy to follow. It states it does 10 litres (acid plus warm water) but my tank capacity is 12 litre and it handled it no problem.I did as it said, I wrapped it up in a couple of old towels, put some old fleece jackets over it for insulation and placed it next to the radiator.After just 3 hours I got the results you can see in the picture. The instructions suggest (if you can keep the acid warm) that all rust can be removed in approx 24 hours dependent upon how severe the rusting was.The sealant to use arter was an added bonus.Ignore the other reviews about it not working. They made me sceptical but I'm glad I bought it... I have a rust free tank!!!

Just follow the instructions and it works very well . Although not overly rusty my tank is now nice and clean with a greyish tint. Not being able to heat the solution just meant I had to leave it for longer but it still worked fine. Really pleased with the results and would definitely recommend this product.

Having tried another brand unsuccessfully I was pleased how well this worked. It came with a sealer to stop any leaks and further corrosion.

Well to say i am impressed is an understatement, i was slightly pessimistic to be honest but the results speak for them selves.I actually bought two bottles due to my petrol tank being 22 litre s and followed the instructions nearly to the letter.i filled direct from the bottles to the tank then used as much hot water as i could and put blankets around the tank to keep it warm.I intermittently give the tank a good shake and two or 3 times top up hot water just a few jugs i did not change the liquid.i must admit it would probably have been of after 24 hours as the water was very dirty but i left it in for 48 hours and the results are fantastic.I must admit it was mostly surface rust but i am really pleased with the resultsAny one who says this does not work is probably not following the instructions.

Really amazing results. Had to buy second hand fuel tank for 30 year old bike but when came looked rather rusty inside. Cleaned out then applied this stuff for half day each way up (cos it didn’t fill the tank). And voila beautiful clean rust free tank. Applied emulsion so now sealed A few days on looking good as new. Also saved used mix and reused for another tank. Just wondering how far it will go. Great value does the job would highly recommend

Took my 25 year old bike to a service centre as it wouldn’t start after being mothballed for years while the kids grew up. They had it for weeks as it just kept blocking the filters with rust, even though they had drained it over and over again. Got it back running, but it was still rough. I saw the reviews on here and thought, it can’t be any worse. Give it a go.Drained my tank again, took it off the bike, put a kettle full of boiling water in, and emptied the bottle on top of that. Then just filled the tank to the top with more boiling water. Threw a towel on top and left it a couple of days to ‘cook’. I did try to take pictures of the before and after but they weren’t clear. Trust me when I say this stuff is great. Inside of the tank was all grey, no rust in sight. All put back together now. The bike runs like I remember it used to.

I put this in an old motorbike tank that had stale petrol in it and 30 years of rust. It worked to a point, but not as well as I was expecting. I heated it up as described and left it for longer, but some rust persisted and it was a swine to clean up. The smell was bit unpleasent too.

This Suzuki had been in a garage for 14 years. Removed tap and sender, made seals. Mixed 2 litres with 18 litres of very hot water and left for 48 hours. Emptied and rinsed however the roof of the tank still had some rust so mixed a half litre with 4.5l hot water, poured in and turned tank upside down (plastic bag over the filler neck and closed lid). 14 hours later, emptied, rinsed and emulsioned there is ZERO rust in this tank with an overall mid grey metal colour. Superb product. Follow the instructions, leave long enough and it will do the job.

Bene, miscelato con acqua a 50gradi in 2gg ha scrostato il serbatoio del motorino, rimuovendo tanta ruggine. Poi dopo aver lavato il tutto ho usato l'altro prodotto per proteggere il metallo. L'ho lasciato asciugare 5gg. Perfetto anzi eccezionale. Attenzione che se cade per terra sulle superfici porose, macchia.

Buen producto sin duda lo volvería a comprar . Usado en depósito gasolina kawasaki Zxr 1992 .
