Bought for my granddaughter absolutely loves it.

I don't dislike anything about it. It's fine for me.

He loved it and has found various old nails etc and £1.25 so far on the beach.

You have to have the expectation that this is a starter kit, and as a full kit for a novice it's fairly complete. You can buy this for an interested beginner and they're ready to go straight away.The instruction manual is multilingual and there are several pages dedicated to each language. The instructions are honestly a little lacking. It shows how to assemble it, but more information could have been provided regarding the use and proper sweep technique. However we live in the age of the internet and there are plenty of videos out there for free which should help.As far as box contents you get the detector itself, 2 9v batteries, some headphones, a foldable shovel and a carry case. Of all the things the one that lets it down the most are the headphones. They're not the best, but it uses a standard socket so you can easily swap out some that you may already have.The detector itself is obviously height adjustable and works reasonably well. One assembled it's fairly stable and has a good balance to it, lessening arm strain when using it. The manual does explain that if you keep getting false positives that you should turn down the sensitivity and it goes a little way to explaining how to use the precision mode, but honestly that's about it in reality. It really does only touch on most aspects of the detector. Again though, a little extra time spent on the manual would have made this a better introductory detector set because that's who this is aimed at, beginners and novices.None of the kit is bad at all and for not very much money it's a good introduction to what could be a new hobby. It's definitely capable of detecting metallic objects to a reasonable depth, which is often the spark that ignites further interest in the hobby. To be fair if you were to buy this and stumble upon the holy grail and find some gold it would likely infuriate far more seasoned hobbyists.

I've never used a metal detector before, but I've always wanted to!When this came up, I thought it sounded like exactly what I'd been looking for... an easy to use and durable metal detector to try the hobby out.And, honestly, that's exactly what I've found! :)Using the metal detector is easy. All you need to do is put the batteries in, check out the instructions and you are ready to go.Essentially, what you need to do is sweep the metal detector left to right parallel over the ground. You can adjust the sensitivity and metal type if you find you are in an area where you are getting many false hits and then use the pinpoint function when you get a hit during sweeping to zone in on exactly where the piece of metal is.In addition to the metal detector, you get a little shovel and bag and pair of headphones to really make this a complete set.To be honest, the only downside would be that this has just an 8-inch(ish) depth. So, this is more for finding recently dropped metals or metals dropped over the past few years - you're unlikely to find anything ancient. But, as I said, this is what I was looking for - an entry point to see whether I want to invest further into the hobby so I'm very happy with the limitations :)

Wir suchen mit dem Ommo-Metalldetektor verlorene Hufeisen auf der Koppel. Das Gerät spricht zuverlässig an und findet auch tiefer im Matsch vergrabenes Metall. Die Bedienung ist denkbar einfach und fast schon selbsterklärend. Daumen hoch und gerne wieder!

mit Schrott, schon durch ein Kissen tut sich das Ding schwer einen Platinring zu finden. Piepst aber dafür an jeder x beliebigen Stelle. Der geht direkt wieder zurück.
