I'm in my seventies, so my eyes aren't young haha. But it's very easy to read. The notes are less easy for my eyes, but even without the air of a magnifier ( which is obviously useful at my age) I can still read MOST of them quite well. Anyway...the Bible itself.... What a precious object of our history. What tremendous sacrifices made by so many Godly people. Whole families were burned alive by the enemies of Christ, just for owning this exact bible version. Praise God for those amazing individuals who risked it all so that we can read for ourselves, in our own homes, the true Holy Word of God. This First complete Translation of the original languages into English, was a massive undertaking, especially during such a dangerous period. Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord. It is a Must for all true believers to own one, even at any price. £47 is nothing when we really think about it. 😌

Absolutely in love with this bible so far. The notes give it a whole new level.I may update this review in due course.What an insight into the times and the language of the times.Yes, it has the apocrypha (no enoch, which i would have preferred), but you may disregard that if you choose.I have only read a few sheets of matthew so far and it had me bawling my eyes out. It's the depth of understanding one gets from the notes that gets me. No wonder King James I didn't want the lay person having this in their hands. Knowledge and truth is indeed freedom...I was a KJV girl until this came along. Maybe when i have more dough, i may get a second copy that i can annotate myself.The notes are very small print. If you aren't good at near vision, then a magnifying glass will be in order.Yes, some words, the print is weak, but it is decipherable.Thanks Amazon for having this stocked....I have been hearing about this bible for months and in 2 days i am completely sold.Yay!May all the glory be to God! In Iesus' name.My original reason to get this bible was realising that Yehusha's name never was meant to begin with a J... but this has taken me so much deeper.

Contrary to some other reviews, I found this bible perfectly clear; even the marginal notes are readable without a magnifying glass. Page 429 is present, the binding is good. The language is not that difficult, it just reads as you would say it, once you have learnt the spelling conventions of very Early Modern English, which is obtainable on wiki.So good is this bible that I can use it as my primary bible as I don't have to look up anything else to understand hard inexplicable passages. This bible corrects Tyndales use of "Easter" for passover, as it should be.This bible, despite its early date, is far more accurate than modern versions, even though it uses comparatively few Greek texts. However those Greek texts vary little with one another, unlike the wildly varying and corrected codices conflated to make the Novum Testamentum Graeci used in modern "bibles".The bible is actually illustrated, though not lavishly. It even has maps, though none are at the back of the bible; they are scattered throughout the bible, and it is interesting the rather fanciful ideas they had for the shape of the coastline, as they had no accurate way of mapping it.Also at the back is a table of the meaning of various biblical names and a concordance, and a timeline.This is a big heavy book printed on quality slightly off white paper.

Fantastic quality of paper and binding, facsimile copy is done very well and is very clear. The comentary notes are excellent, concise and clear comentary that gives great explanation to scripture. As a post KJV only Christian I and happy to say my eyes have been opened to the better scriptural integrity of the 1560 Geneva. Where 90% 'roughly' of the KJV is the same as the Geneva, it is the 10% difference in the Geneva that is so much clearer to understand. I believe the translators of the KJV had sought to remove the of the clarity the Geneva provided in its Awesome English translation. Do compare Psalm 23, 27 & 91 for GNV vs KJV to see some great examples of how much a better translation the Geneva is. I now use the Geneva as my daily bible and love the style of translation and Elizabethan English. Truly the commentary explanations are precise and accurate with the main body of the roman Catholic church being described as the whore of babylon and the Pope the anti - Christ (or I would say an anti-Christ). With this bible being made illegal and it being the reason the KJV was authored, incidentally the KJV had no commentaries and the font was heavy gothic in the 1st KJV rather than the easy to read roman type of Geneva bible. These facts coupled with others draw heavily into question the intention of King James, the KJV is a good bible and one of the best but I feel the Geneva is a vastly better bible and the very best English translation money can buy. If you can read the KJV you'll quickly be able to fluently read the Geneva and appreciate the richness of old English. By: ! Mark, Son of John

The Geneva Bible; great but the footnotes a little difficult to read. i would recommend it. The price was reasonable.
