These 2040 black anodized aluminum extrusions from MECCANIXITY arrived well packaged with 3 layers of plastic protecting the finish. The extrusions are flat. When laid on a flat surface and when flipped against each other did not show any light between the extrusion and the flat surface. The lengths of the two sections matched and were right at the expected 700mm.The end cuts were generally smooth, however on one end of one section the corner of the end cut was scuffed, suggesting it slipped slightly when cut. Also, there were some dings on the end cut finish that looked like it might have been hit against something after the cut. There was a fair amount of aluminum glitter Inside the inner most packaging of the extrusions (see photos). None of these observations would affect the function of the extrusions, but they should be noted.Sometimes your project calls for more rigidity than can be provided by a simple 2020 extrusion. These 2040 extrusions can provide that extra rigidity.These are useful extrusions. However, you should shop around to make sure you get a good price, since prices vary over a wide range.

This set of two extruded aluminum tracks come with a soft matte black finish, and both were completely free of any burrs, nicks or scratches. You can't go wrong with this set, and the price makes it a great value as well.
