Most palatable emergency ration bar I've tasted yet
No long term storage ration bar is good, none are tasty. The need for shelf-stable long term storage makes that basically impossible. But these are the best ones I've eaten yet, the synthetic chocolate flavor isn't bad and distracts you from the texture well enough to get them down without dwelling on what you're eating. Cause if it's enough of an emergency to break out the lifeboat rations you need the nutrition more than anything else.

Quite good ... For what it is anyway.
I got the chocolate flavor. It isn't that "chocolaty", it tastes like a graham cracker with a slight chocolate overtone. Not too bad at all. When compared to others with a lot less calories I think this is a great buy. I may try other flavors sometime.

Decent chocolate taste, reasonable price
35g sugar per package, but just a slightly sweet taste. These taste good, they are very crumbly, and are compact. The vacuum-packed container is easy-to-open. The texture is like a thick graham cracker and somewhat dry. The quality is good and the calorie content is high at 1125 calories per package.

Not bad, really. Worth it.
Overall, I'd say it's worth purchasing. There's a fairly pleasant chocolate scent I noticed when opening the vacuum sealed packaging- as you see in the image on Amazon. The plastic wrap on the four individually wrapped "bricks" inside seems cheap, but holds up quite nicely. The long life - the distant expiration date - is very nice.Taste: just like the smell - honestly, it's like chocolate-flavored cardboard. I hate to say that, but that's my best, simplest description I have. It's not bad! A little on the dry side and it crumbles as you bite into it - I'm not complaining, just informing. Sip on some water as you eat it and you're fine. Good taste overall and not at all unpleasant.I can't speak for the nutritional content - I have no way to prove or disprove what they promote. However, as of this review I've purchased this twice, and I will buy at least two more when I get paid.If you're hiking or working out a lot, highly nutritious food is important. Stay hydrated, do your research on food, fluids and nutrition (especially these days... ) and you'll guide yourself towards a better life.

Good product, but made in China
For survival food, I found the chocolate, strawberry, and mocha flavors to be surprisingly palatable.I Love:-the 1 day bar has smaller wrapped parcels within it, so you can divide it up into smaller portions for you or family, or spread it out to supplement other meals without having a crumbly mess.-it is well fortified with vitamins and a better balance of carbs, protein, and fats, which is better than the lifeboat-type rations I'll be replacing (lifeboat rations are designed for a limited fresh water supply, so almost no protein in those).Don't love- that it's made in China, which they call the "PRC" on package, I think to try to fool people. I don't trust things made in China as much, due to the multiple instances of injuries and fatalities that have occurred due to toxins in pet food, human baby food, etc, all under the watchful eye of the "PRC" government. Hopefully there are no issues with the survival food manufactured there! With that caveat, so far it seems like a great product and I will be buying more.

meh, well see
I dont really do product reviews, but I agree, this is smaller than expected, more like a survival snack not a ration, and didnt even know it comes from or made in china, would never wanna eat anything made there especially now, im not even sure whats actually all in this or if the ingredients are true, if id buy a survival ration thats suppose to help me in the future i wouldnt want it to be made in china ever, i atleast opened one to try it out but if i would of known i would of just spent my money on mainstay rations instead

Affordable and Calorie dense.
A great addition to an emergency bag for hiking or for a bug out bag, with just over 1100 calories for something vacuum sealed, waterproof, and that fits in the palm of my hand, they can fit pretty much into any space space. These bars also have an impressively long shelf life (25 years) and might outlast me.

Don’t starve if you don’t need to
I haven’t tried them but they are a great emergency or backpacking food source.
