The handy thumb-accessed wheel allows for a range of speed from slow to fast, while the "up/down" selector activates either a fast "blow-out" or lets gravity remove the liquid slowly.  A long-life rechargeable lithium (environmentally friendly) battery keeps the controller running for up to 8 hours or 2500 pipettings on a single two hour charge.
