Toyota 4Runner, 2003 - 2009 (Chilton Automotive Books) 1st Edition

This book was perfect for what I needed. Very detailed repair procedures with pictures. Book was used but arrived as described, gently used. Quick delivery and a great price.

The book was somewhat helpful.Would like to see more trouble shooting guides.I was having poor gas mileage. Looks like it may have been the Spark Plugs

I haven't had a Chiltons' in several years, and bought this one thinking it would be as good as the Haynes manuals I have for other vehicles. It is not. The Haynes manuals have much more in depth instruction for the non-mechanic. I do most of my own work, but there are nuances when taking things apart that experienced mechanics have learned from hands on. Since it's not what I do for a living, I sometimes need instruction which may seem elementary to some. The Haynes manuals give step by step for a lot of the things do-it-yourselfers will try to tackle. The Chiltons' manuals take it for granted that everyone has advanced knowledge.

We left our truck with family, when our jobs took us overseas. It was damaged in a storm, & the local mechanics kept having issues with the repairs. We ordered this manual, & shortly after it arrived all repairs were able to be completed! Pretty cool!

I purchased both the Chilton and Haynes version of this 4Runner repair manual. I was disappointed to learn that they are basically the same thing, sharing most of the pictures and text between them. It turns out they were both written by the same person, so I guess that's why they are so similar. Some of the 4Runner-specific information is good for the backyard mechanic, but a professional mechanic will find the information lacking. Also, both books use basic repair procedures that don't always apply to more modern vehicles. In other words, I think you could find the same exact information if you opened up a Chilton manual for a 1986 Ford Mustang that you find in the basic information in this 4Runner manual.

The book answered all my questions and supplied illustrated instructions for repairs and servicing. Being an amateur servicer, it was just what the doctor ordered.

Good book

Book is very helpful and seems to have a lot of useful information. Will know more once it is used.
