Are there any exposed wires?

There are parts of the wires exposed internally within the model as you place the lights. I don't know a lot about electrical so I wasn't very confident with installing the set.

Is there a compatible RC remote that can be purchased separately to alter light settings?

Hellothanks for your questions!this light kit is without remote control. And we will list some remote parts separately in future.Kind regards!

How many lego pieces does this contain?

It's not easy but you must buy the lighting kit ! Not sure why you want to know how many parts

Does anyone have a recommendation for a power bank to use. Aside from less than 5v. Something someone has used

It comes with a power cord that can be plugged into an outlet 120v. That’s how mine is and I connected it to a Christmas light remote so I can turn them on and off with a remote switch.
