Package should contain much more detail, including precise measurements.My 3-gallon water bottle (purchased in-store from a national retailer) is labeled with "53 mm" near its opening. The Easy Load Snap-On Reusable No-Splash Cap is too large for my water bottle and cannot "snap" onto the opening. On its own, the device also doesn't sit well or easily onto the probe in my electric water dispenser. I've had almost identical snap-on adapters in the past, purchased from a local water delivery company in the Seattle area, but didn't bring them with me when I moved. Those were almost $20 each, but there's no cost savings here if this product doesn't fit my bottle. I'm just out $6.26 and still without an adapter cap. Glad I only bought one. The idea is fabulous. Wish this could have worked.

Works very well, so long as it fits your bottle and your cooler. I have Crystal five gallon bottles, and it fits but is very tight. I have a GE Greenway cooler and initially it did not fit. The "ears" on the thing made it too wide to fit into the top of the cooler, but once I removed the insert from the cooler (that included a "spike") it went in just fine. Only now I see there is a screw-top version which does not have any ears, that would probably have worked better for me in retrospect.Actual specifications are lacking, not just from Amazon but even on the company web site: [...]It is cheap enough to give it a shot, and if it does fit you will be very happy with the lack of mess that results.

These work pretty good. My only complaint would be that after many uses (for some reason), when I put the water bottle on the dispenser the snap on device is not allowing the air to escape and let the bottle "burp." It is an easy fix though by tipping the bottle over and manually letting the air out. Otherwise, it will leak water on your floor.I will admit though, after using these devices for years, the water leaking has only happened twice.

Great fit for 5-gallon water bottles that I use in my home water dispenser. Use for the Culligan-style snap-on bottles and it is "self-sealing" so you don't have to worry as much about water spilling if the bottle topples over.

Hooray!! A friend who worked in the water industry introduced me to these when my kids were younger. They have always been good about changing the 5 gallon bottles for me, but these caps have saved me from some of the early "learning curve" spills!! And if you are like me and not as strong as your kids, you may find that these help to reduce splashing!

I bought this for our home water machine because I kept spilling the water when I had to flip the jug upside down. I have been using this for a few years now and it still works great. I did have to cut the flaps off because I needed it to fit inside the jug that I keep refilling. I have also found if you fill the jug too full, it doesn't work as well and tends to spill water. I would recommend this for anyone who has to flip the jug over for a water machine.

Why, oh why, did I not know of this awesome product years ago? No more washing the wall behind the water cooler everytime I change out water bottles!!! Snap it on the open bottle and tip slowly over cooler (there is a little dribble of water) then place it in the water cooler... For those of us with older water coolers without the puncture cap feature, these snap on caps are the way to go!

I was sceptical about this gizmo at first - looks like just another gimick. It actually works really well, though. I had the hardest time putting 5 gallon water bottles on our cooler without spilling all over the place. I have no spillage with this cap in place. You do have to wait a moment or two for the ball to float up and clear the spout once it's in place, but I don't consider that a problem, just something to be aware of.

I was spilling water all over the cooler and floor. So I searched for something that would solve this problem. I purchased this product, put it on the water bottle, put the bottle on the cooler and it worked. No spillage. I just hope that it lasts for a couple of years.I recommend this product. It is worth the $7 + shipping as you don't have to clean up all the water you spill.

I cannot agree with the other reviewers that stated no spilling occurred with this cap on. In every other way this cap performed as expected. However, when I went to install the bottle on the cooler there was some leakage, maybe a few ounces. Also, don't expect to transport bottles with this cap on either as it does allow splashing while upright as the ball is at the bottom of the neck. Overall still a good product.

This product was not what I expected. It is ok, could be better designed. The instructions could improve. When we turn the bottle upside down, the ball does not flow up as indicated. We have to jiggle the bottle or press the ball up using your finger. It's a hassle.

Had this since May now July the 2 plastic pieces came apart one remaining in the bottle. not very well put together. Had something similar that worked for 14 years till we lost it.

This little device works great. While some water comes out when using it, the main function, preventing splashing, is well covered.I use it on Sparkletts five-gallon water bottles, and it fits both the older style without handle and the new bottles with handles.

Great product - makes handling water bottles a lot easier.
