This is the first portable, bluetooth speaker that I have bought and it is excellent, I am very impressed. I wanted a speaker for indoor use only to play podcasts, live radio and music. The smaller the better. Inside the box is the speaker which has a strap already attached. There is also a charging cable and user guide. I began by charging the speaker which took around 2 hours. The speaker is small, well designed with controls along the side for power, bluetooth connection / pairing, hands free and volume. I turned on the speaker, then turned on my mobile bluetooth, initiating the pairing function and it found the Sony XB100 very quickly so I was able to pair the devices easily. The speaker does have a pairing button so if your device has an issue finding the speaker or connecting this may help with that. Playing a podcast and altering the volume I was impressed with the level it reaches. More than enough for indoor use. With music again there is more than enough volume and the quality is excellent with a decent bass level emitting from the speaker. The level of bass will vary depending on the type of surface used. Some reviews I read prior to purchase criticised the lack of volume however I am more than happy with the output when using indoors and I do not even have it at full. Sony states the battery being 16 hours usage however this will lessen based on the volume output. When the battery level is at 40% a small orange light flashes to warn you that the battery will require charging. The speaker also offers hands free use for mobile calls as it has a built in mic. I haven't used this yet and may never do so cannot comment. You can also purchase a second speaker and link them so that you experience a stereo effect. The speaker has an IP67 rating which means it is also waterproof and dustproof so using it in the shower / bathroom or when outside in certain environments it is well protected. If you are looking for a stylish, high quality, portable, bluetooth speaker I can definitely recommend the Sony XB100. **Since this review was posted I have purchased a second speaker so that I can link the two and experience stereo sound. You turn both speakers on. Then press the pairing button down for around 2 seconds on one speaker and a white light will be displayed under the button. Then repeat this on the second speaker. Once paired the first speaker announces it is the left then the second paired speaker announces it is the right. Together they sound great, at night when in bed I have both speakers sat on the frame just above and behind my head whilst streaming TV or film and they really do enhance the audio experience. When you have finished using them if you power off one speaker it automatically turns off the other paired speaker.

Bought 2 of these for both my daughters in different colours and they love them. Sound quality is good for such a budget priced speaker and better quality than others at a similar price. Great sound, great battery life, very portable. Can’t fault.

I purchased this speaker to take on a holiday. The compact design was very useful to take on the go and the sound quality is amazing for the size of this speaker. One thing to consider however is that the speaker lacks the volume when not in an enclosed environment so when outdoors it can be a little tricky to hear if your 5m or so away at max volume. That being said this speaker packs a punch while using this inside when the sound is bouncing off the walls and the bass packs a punch too. If you’re looking for a compact speaker to travel with then this is perfect, it’s light weight and easy to use with a good battery life too. I have used a few generations of the JBL Go prior to purchasing this speaker however I’m glad I made the switch, the superior sound quality and extra kick to the bass makes this worth every penny!

I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker for use outside in the garden and after doing some research settled on the Sony SRS-XB100. It arrived in a small box made of recycled material and I was impressed with the build quality, look and feel of the speaker itself which is also part made of recycled materials. A small set of instructions are included along with a short USB 'C' to 'A' charging cable. The cable is very short so a longer cable may be required depending on how accessible your charger / charging port is. The speaker paired incredibly easily and quickly with my Google Pixel 7a phone and I had music playing on it within minutes. I was impressed with the quality and base the speaker produces and was not disappointed with my purchase. Many reviewers criticise the volume level being too low, but I find it more than adequate for use on our garden table or in any room in the house. The speaker isn't too heavy and be carried easily and includeds a strap that can be looped thru a belt or bag for use on the move. I also installed the Sony Music Centre app on my phone which can stream music from your music library and provide firmware updates to the speaker. The speaker is not the cheapest or loudest but the sound quality is superb in my opinion - so much so that I decided to buy a second one and pair them together (which again was easy to do) in order to get stereo sound. Definitely recommended unless sound volume is a priority.

Deze Sony bluetooth speaker is een fijne speaker met een goed geluid. Belangrijk is voor mij dat het een handzaam ding is met een instelbare lus eraan. Ook kan hij tegen een stootje. Ben er zo blij mee dat ik een tweede erbij heb gekocht zodat ik deze kan ‘pairen’. Alleen zijn de oplaadsnoertjes wel vrij klein.

Inexpensive and gives great sound. It does exactly what it needs to do and it doesn’t take up much space.

Ho acquistato questo speaker Bluetooth Sony e ne sono davvero soddisfatto. È incredibilmente compatto e leggero, perfetto da portare ovunque, dalla spiaggia al parco. La resistenza all'acqua e alla polvere (IP67) lo rende super affidabile per ogni tipo di avventura. La batteria dura a lungo e il design è minimal e pulito. ​L'audio è chiaro e bilanciato, con bassi sorprendenti per le sue dimensioni. L'unica cosa da considerare è che, anche al volume massimo, non è potentissimo, quindi è l'ideale per un ascolto personale o per sonorizzare un piccolo ambiente, ma non per una grande festa all'aperto. Nonostante ciò, per le mie esigenze è perfetto e lo consiglio a chi cerca uno speaker portatile e di qualità.

L’articolo è arrivato puntuale, il giorno dopo l’ordine. L’estetica è molto piacevole, e al tatto dà una buona sensazione di grip. Per quanto riguarda la resa sonora mi ha dato subito l’impressione di avere davanti una cassa molto più grande delle sue reali dimensioni, in quanto produce un audio potente e nitido, molto ricco di bassi profondi. La uso a un volume di circa il 30%, tenendola a una distanza di circa 1 metro. Certo, non si può pretendere che il suo suono riempia una grande stanza, posizionandola lontana e aumentando semplicemente il volume, perché non è stata concepita per questo. Per la musica trovo che sia migliore rispetto anche ad altre casse che possiedo dal costo più che doppio, oltre a durare di più come batteria. Va considerato che queste Sony XB100 hanno un ottimo range di frequenza, e la versione bluetooth 5.3, che elimina i ritardi che si possono riscontrare in altre casse simili. Quindi per riprodurre la musica a mio parere direi che non vale la pena cercare il di più in questo ordine di dimensioni, spendendo cifre molto maggiori. Inoltre, è possibile associare in Bluetooth anche un secondo XB100, per ascoltare in stereo. Personalmente uso l’ XB100 per ascoltare principalmente gli audiolibri di Audible. Devo anche aggiungere che nel parlato, soprattutto quando chi parla è un uomo, vengono enfatizzati molto i bassi, forse troppo. Provando altri speaker bluetooth più economici che possiedo, devo anche dire che questi ultimi non enfatizzano i bassi, quindi la voce non risulta rimbombante e sovrastata dai bassi, ma più ricca di alti e medi, e in definitiva più chiara. Riguardo la batteria, dopo oltre 2 ore di ascolto al 30% di volume, viene visualizzata ancora la percentuale del 100% nella sua app Sony Music Center, che ho installato. Consiglio senz’altro l’acquisto per l’ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, soprattutto per chi usa questo diffusore per la musica. Ma anche per podcast e audiolibri, poiché non si avranno ritardi e inizio frasi tagliate tra una pausa e l’altra di un discorso, come ho riscontrato in speaker di altre marche, più economici e con versioni bluetooth meno recenti.
