High quality box! I love the Quiet Drift feature
I am such a fan, I expected a cheap Chinese product but the box and product is like apple or something really high quality with a lot of thought put into it. Setup seemed daunting but then was easy after watching a video. I didn’t use any of the clips or anything, not even magnets for my setup. And it works great. But probably need them for other curtain style. I absolutely love the quiet drift feature. So cool! Literally silent and feels really classy when it opens slowly. I use it to open my blackout curtains every morning in a schedule

Amazing Product, Great Price.
I was hesitant about buying these, doubting they would work as advertised, especially at that price point. But I'm so glad I did. They were very easy to set up and install on the curtain track over our sliding glass doors with our new curtains (also purchased on Amazon along with the track). These can be controlled by an app on my phone. You have to buy two of them if you want curtains that part from the middle, still a steal compared to automated track which goes for hundreds more. These can be controlled by an app on my phone. You do have to buy two of them if you want curtains that part from the middle, one for each side. Still a steel compared to automated track which goes for much more. I love that we can set this up to open and close at certain times of the day to keep the heat out of the room on really hot days. There are two speed modes, standard, which is pretty fast and shown here, and something called quiet mode I think which opens much much more slowly and quietly. I believe that mode is designed to light into a bedroom gradually in the morning without waking you up. The set of curtains shown here (also from Amazon) block UV light have a rich linen feel and look and cost about $160 for both panels, pleated, each 8 feet wide. The track itself (also from Amazon) was easy to mount. I bought enough to cover the full 16 foot width of these doors for $85. That adds up to $430 plus tax for an entire entirely new, beautiful window treatment that keeps the sun from fading our wood floor and rug in the morning .

NOT compatible with Alexa
The actual curtain3 bot works well for opening and closing your curtains. Maybe with a different smart home technology it works better. If you have an Alexa home then switchbot is not for you. I purchased the curtain3 device to automate my bedroom curtains. Only to learn that you need a hub to allow your Alexa device to communicate with the curtain bot. I found this annoying because there was not anything in the advertising for the curtain3 that would suggest that you needed another purchase to actually make them work with Alexa. Also, the hub I eventually purchased never communicated with Alexa. The apps would say the Switchbot app and the Alexa app were “linked” but Alexa could never find any of the Switchbot devices. So I ended up returning the curtain3 bot and the hub. I wanted voice controlled devices, as advertised, but Switchbot is just not compatible with Alexa.

1 of a kind device, works superbly
The SwitchBot Curtain is one of those smart home devices that just makes life easier. I installed it on my heavy, energy-efficient curtains, and it had no trouble opening and closing them smoothly. Now, instead of manually adjusting them throughout the day, I have them set on a schedule to let in natural light in the morning and close at night for privacy. Setup was surprisingly simple, and the motor is quiet but powerful. The battery lasts a long time, but I have an outlet right next to the curtains where I installed this and will likely go that route instead of the solar panel. The curtain opener also integrates well with other SwitchBot products, making automation seamless. I have it exposed to Home Assistant and it works like a charm! For anyone looking to make their home smarter and more convenient, this is a great addition. Highly recommend!

Works great, easy setup!
I’ve got a huge smarthome setup and have automated quite a few things, so when I ordered this I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. I ordered the product and just let it sit for a while because I was dreading the typical setup > get confused > something goes wrong > troubleshoot for hours loop that typically comes with this kind of product so when I finally got around to installing it, I was pleasantly surprised. The setup was super easy and instructions were clear and concise. It came with everything you need and there were no serious issues. Attached some videos to show the smooth running. I was actually concerned it would struggle with the bump in the curtain rod where the smaller one goes into the bigger one but it had zero issues with it. I also ordered the solar charger to go with it and it snaps right it and hangs from the base of the device, keeping it in sunlight to charge with almost zero installation outside of unboxing and plugging it in. A couple important notes for others that I didn’t know before buying: these aren’t issues at all, but just stuff to be aware of that I didn’t see or didn’t think about before hand. 1) If you have a support in the middle of your curtains (like a 3rd bracket in the middle to hold your curtains up), you’ll need a second SwitchBot to open both sides and can’t use just a single one. 2) The solar charger does hang down from the main switch bot and would be visible during the day if you had sheer curtains. Some folks may not like that. Also, if your SwitchBot is defaulting to having your curtains all the way to one side or the other, it may not have the solar charger in the window long enough to charge. You CAN fix this, however, because they’ve got a really neat feature built in where you can tell it to auto charge during the day by bringing the SwitchBot into the sunlight no matter where it’s at, when it needs to. This just means your curtains won’t be at your preferred setting for a bit while it charges, but it really beats taking it down and charging. 3) Lastly, you do need a slightly thicker curtain rod - not crazy thick, maybe about the size of a US nickel or a little smaller. I have a pretty thin curtain rod on one side where I started, but it’s the telescopic kind so the other side is thicker and I flipped it over and it was fine. The little arms that hang on the rod actually have a lot of room to adjust to account for a lot of sizes, but they can only get so small so if you’ve got very thin curtain rods, be advised. That stuff all told, I’m very happy with mine and am planning to buy a few more now to fill up my curtains! I’m enjoying it quite a bit!

So worth the buff this gives my sleep routine attempts
Works like a charm. Took a while for me to figure out that sweet, for my purpose of “please open and close the curtains in the morning and at night”, I did *not* need to buy their Hub. On iOS, swiping up on the bottom for more options in the Switchbot app > select the curtains > there’s a “Schedule” option — OK yeah it’d be nice if they had an actual sunrise/sunset option, but it’s good enough to just manually set it to open and close at set times every day. I go in and update the times to match sunrise/sunset times every few weeks. No more getting out of bed to close the curtains during midday naps! No more “guh I need to get up it’d be so much easier with sunlight in my bedroom” morning moments! No more “bah the neighbors have their bright living room lights on again, I can’t sleep meh I forgot to close the blackout curtains again” experiences My only regret was not buying this sooner — yeah I had to take a weekend to get myself to actually set it up, but man life is so much nicer now. Totally worth it.

Set up is not easy; they are great when they actually work
I was really excited about these smart curtain closers, but they were a complete nightmare to set up. They really need to make their instructions more clear, as we had to rely on videos posted by other people just to get these working. Once set up, they work, but only some of the time. For some reason, the left one (we have two) can't find the magnet. I will recalibrate, it will work fine for a few days, and then will stop short of the magnet again. I originally was going to return them, but the thought of taking them down and going through set up all over again was so unappealing I decided to just deal with the issues.

Voice activation is a game changer, allowing me to open or close the curtains without lifting a finger. **Design:** The sleek design of the opener blends well with my decor. It’s compact and doesn’t take up much space, which is perfect for my modern aesthetic. **Overall Performance:** The Switchbot Curtain Opener has been reliable and responsive.
