I got this for my kids, thinking they’d have a blast in the back yard. I kinda figured they might hurt a little too much to shoot each other with (my kids are a little younger than the intended demographic). The toy came with protective eye wear. The gel bb’s are pretty solid and the rate of fire and muzzle velocity makes me think it’s similar to paintball. I’m no helicopter parent and I believe that rubbing dirt on a scuffed knee builds character. That being said, I let my kids shoot my leg to gauge the pain level and I promptly imposed a rule that we’re gunna refrain from shooting each other until they’re a little older. It’s really just a matter of time before one of them takes a bb to the face, and the eye pro won’t do much besides let them keep their vision. My boy loves this thing. We’ve got a play set in the back yard and he lit that think up like the 4th of July. The magazine holds an impressive amount of bb’s. I think it was around 2-3 minutes of sustained full auto fire before we had to reload. The fire rate is impressive. We ran through four magazines before the battery gave out. The accessories are pretty neat too. They really complete the tacticool aesthetic the company was going for. It’s well built, the accessories fit really snug and every component seems to mesh well with the rest of the blaster. No rattling parts or observable defects. The blaster comes with 1,000 bb’s that need to be soaked in water for a few hours to swell up to size. Refills can be easily found on Amazon. Overall I wish we had this when I was a kid. My older brothers got paintball guns in ‘99 for Christmas and I was their favorite target. I really could’ve used something like this.

This was my first foray into "Orbeez" guns (I just saw "gel pellets", but my kids let me know everyone just calls them Orbeez). I've done some paintballing before - it's fun, but there's a lot of mess involved (and the guns are expensive). I've also done Airsoft, and while I like the simplicity, getting those little plastic balls all over the yard is no good. These gel shooters seemed like the perfect compromise - not quite as accurate as a paintball, but a lot easier to use and clean up (or not clean up as it were). This rifle was a great beginner gun. The battery is quite large and gives this a lot of power - I was able to shoot about 30 yards pretty accurately. At close range, it can hurt, so be careful and always wear eye protection (thoughtfully included) The magazine is absolutely huge - it carries a lot of pellets. Filling it is a bit of a pain, however, and it would have been nice if a funnel had been included (I have since gotten a couple of more guns and they did come with loading funnels). It comes with a stock, but in my opinion it makes the gun too long to hold comfortably. On a real gun the stock is here to help you deal with recoil - since this doesn't really have any recoil, the stock just gets in the way. Without the stock the gun is very manageable and easy to aim and fire. If you're looking to get into the work of gel guns, this is a great starter gun; I highly recommend it.

Great rate of fire, good power/range, and jam free even during really long bursts. I do have a couple complaints; the battery tray is way too small and requires you to really shove the battery in there, risking damaging the wiring. At this price point I expect an integral battery with a charging port.

Got this for my sun and was sadly disappointed with it. We read the instructions carefully as this was a new style of toy and waiting the 4 hours for the gel balls to be fully soaked. Once we loaded it and went to shoot….. nothing even had my husband try and still couldn’t figure it out. Unsure of what the problem is but definitely not worth the money.
