Love at Second Sight

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up Cathy Hopkins book 'Love at Second Sight'. I have read some of her other books and enjoyed them but unlike the others she's written which are all series, this is her first stand alone story. Could she include the same lightness of touch, humour and depth of story in a one off?I was relieved to find that not only were her trademark touches of, as I've said above, humour, lightness of touch and depth of story there, she had developed them to even higher levels. The basic story is of a girl who is the only singleton alongst her friends. Alone in the world of coupledom, she is persuaded to join her girlfriends in their visit to a clairvoyant where, to her surprise, she is told that the love of her life is someone she met in a previous life. But it's not all mad and sad. She is told that she will find him in this life. What she is not told is how and where to find him. The world is a big place he could be anywhere! Fortunately for our heroine Jo, it turns out he could be one of the three boys in her current life. Phew!If you go to Cathy Hopkins website you will find she is happily married and has a few cats. Fairly typical of a teen writer you might think. What is not typical about Ms Hopkins is how she manages to write so well in teen voices. Jo, like her namesake in 'Little Women' is a teen with guts and heart and the determination to find out if the clarevoyants she visits are all hocus pocus or is there really something in it. If you believe in coincidences and synchronicity, why not find out for yourself and read 'Love at Second Sight', even if you don't, you won't be disappointed.

I rated this amazing book 5⭐ because of the fantastic storyline and emotion put into the characters that we see. Jo struggles to find her true love and with 3 boys who could possibly be her soulmate from a past lifetime, she is desperate to discover who it is despite her not believing it at all to begin with.

The story wrote itself and was very predictable with what was going to happen but I love how it was written and enjoyed reading it anyway

Liked this book, got me thinking a lot about past lives and fate. But just a little too lovey dovey for me, i felt as if it was missing a climax. Great book all the same though! :)

OMG!!! THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!! It is really creepy and weird but I loved every moment of it. It's just such a good story but It really muddles with your head with the home "past lives" thing and just love it.

I loved this book it grabbed my attention and kept me reading right till the end only one improvement I could think of and that would be that there were a lot of spelling mistakes but nevertheless I loved it xx

I really enjoyed this book! It was quite suspending and you never know what will happen next. It made me think about life and past-lives thoroughly, blatantly it is your choice what you think about reincarnation, but I definitely now believe!

This book is AMAZING! I wish there was another one to the story so I could read it and fall in love with it like I did with this one!!:)
