Mandalorian, The : Season 2

Would give half a star if I could, disc 1 is defective...no video, disc 2 was good. So disappointed, was looking forward to watching the movie. Returned the 4k and ordered blu-raybest decision as I live the story, great addition to my Star Wars collection.

This review is for the quality of picture and sound as well as the case. I’m not reviewing the show. I will say that this the clearest picture and most vibrant sound that I’ve heard and seen of the show. Much better than streaming on Disney+. I am a hardcopy enthusiast and would rather have a 4K disc in my collection, then be able to stream it. This lives up to all of my expectations. Plus the steel case that comes in is highly durable and is beautiful to sit on the shelf.

“The Mandalorian: The Complete Second Season” collects episodes 9-16 of the series that captured “Star Wars” fans’ imaginations just like the Expanded Universe novels of the 1990s. The second season picks up with Navarro mostly pacified and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, Lateef Crowder, Brendan Wayne) seeking out other Mandalorians. He initially meets Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), who first appeared in Chuck Wendig’s 2015 novel, “Aftermath,” and wears familiar armor. Din helps Vanth in exchange for the armor’s return. As he and the child continue their travels, they meet a real Mandalorian: Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), who previously appeared in “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels.” She tries to explain to Din that his interpretation of Mandalorian culture is just one of many. Meanwhile, Din returns to Navarro to help Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) liberate it from the last of the Imperial Remnant, which sheds more light on Moff Gideon’s (Giancarlo Esposito) plans. Din seeks out a Jedi to return the child to its people. He meets Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), who seeks Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), one of Grand Admiral Thrawn’s loyalists. Ahsoka helps Din to learn more about the child, Grogu. They travel to a Jedi ruin, but Gideon returns to capture Grogu. Bereft, Din recruits allies – including the most famous Mandalorian of all – to help him rescue Grogu, leading to a phenomenal conclusion.This Steelbook set is a great way for fans to bring this series to their home video collection. Bonus features include an a look at the production design of the New Republic from Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and more along with a look at the artistic direction of Mandalore and the covert. It also includes exclusive art cards.

Great 4K transfer look s real nice ,but Disney really messed up the extras on both seasons 4k dvds,where are the extras that were on Disney +,like the cast interviews and how show was made those were so cool,Disney really dropped the ball on this,I spent close to $100 dollars these 2 seasons Disney should gone all out and had everything all extras on the dvds

I am giving this 5 stars because it is a great show and the steelbook is awesome. That being said, the product I got was season 2, though I ordered this thinking it was Season 1 since that is what the Item was labeled as on the page.I didn't have either season yet, so no big deal. Just a heads up, if you order this product and the product image is somewhat unclear (Photo of Grogu in the middle of Stones) it is likely Season 2.

Excellent steelbook packaging and the episodes represent some of the best SW storytelling ever.
