Spanish Dictionary Complete and Unabridged: For advanced learners and professionals

The comprehensive hardcover edition in a dust jacket has an enormous A4+ size and considerable weight (2.7 kg). This restricts its use to only inside the room and on the desk. It is very hard to leaf through it standing, holding on one hand. The pages are white but very thin. Leafing through them should be careful to avoid damage. Sometimes two pages feel like a single one and require separating. The print is black-and-white. There are also some grey highlights and frames for linguistic or historical references, as well as the keywords. The letters are marked on the side of the pages and it is easier to find the right page just looking on the side of the book. The English and Spanish parts are separated by the "Language in use" section, this division is also visible on the side of the book. This section does not have grammar or pronunciation rules, but it contains helpful writing tips, like writing a letter or scholar paper. It seems the dictionary indeed contains all the words of both languages. There are lots of meanings, expressions, and examples. There are also phonetic and grammatical features given next to each word: gender, plural forms, and conjugation types. I am extremely satisfied with the dictionary. The only suggestion would be to have it rather in several volumes, for more convenient use.

This really is a heavyweight in every sense, but an excellent tool for anyone serious about learning either language.

I bought this as a surprise gift for my wife who has been learning Spanish for some years. After using it for a couple of months she says that it is a truly indispensable tool and it sits alongside her PC permanently.

Desde hace muchos años llevo utilizando este diccionario y ya me tocaba renovar y tener otro en buen estado. Nunca me ha decepcionado la calidad de sus palabras y traducciones en los dos idiomas.. El tamaño está bien y el color naranja es vivo y optimista. Cumple los requisitos exigidos.

It was not used but damaged. But anyway very good book.
