Product description The P8 Max is a powerful fan with 500 to 5000 rpm. The fan delivers a static pressure of 5.3 mmH₂O and generates an airflow of up to 40 cfm. It offers precise control of the fan speed via pulse width modulation (PWM) and is extremely efficient at 0.19 A. The P8 Max is ideal for 2U server racks, which often require a high airflow to effectively dissipate heat. In addition, it has a 0 dB mode for silent operation in IDLE. Virtually Silent due Fluid Dynamic Bearing As a special feature, the P8 Max is equipped with ARCTIC's proven Fluid Dynamic Bearing*. This enables the virtually silent operation at low speeds that customers have been asking for. At maximum speed, brute performance is still guaranteed. Although these bearings tend to wear out, ARCTIC does not compromise on durability and still offers the 6-year promise. *All P8 Max fans sold from ARCTIC are now equipped with Fluid Dynamic Bearing. Please note that products from resellers may still be sold with dual ball bearing. Extremely Wide Speed Range The P8 Max enables precise fan speed (500 to 5000 rpm) via pulse width modulation control, which can be adapted to the individual cooling requirements. The P8 Max enables silent operation when only a low airflow is required and provides a high performance level if needed. Optimised for High Static Pressure The P8 Max delivers a focused airflow and assures a good airflow even with particularly high static pressure. Therefore, the P8 Max is also specially suitable for use on heat sinks, radiators, pinholes and filters. 0dB Mode - Zero rpm The speed of the fan can be throttled down to a standstill via PWM. This allows silent operation in IDLE and at the same time assures maximum performance when required. This enables the P8 Max to be extremely flexible in adjusting the speed to optimally regulate the airflow for every case. Low Power Consumption The P8 Max is distinguished by its extremely high efficiency. At a speed of 3000 rpm and a voltage of 12 volts, it requires only 0.669 watts, which corresponds to a current of 0.06 amps. Optimal for 2U Server Rack Server cases such as 2U racks usually have a high component density, which means a high airflow is needed to effectively dissipate heat. It speeds up when needed but it's still really quite and provides good airflow to keep everything within its proper heat range. Good price for a nice quality fan.
Review: Quiet and Strong - Nice and quite with good flow at various speeds. I used this on a garage stereo project. Imaging this.....A custom wooden box with vents in the bottom and at the top sides. This fan is fitted in a fabricated air intake frame, pulling air from the bottom and blowing it up on the Kenwood stereo heatsinks and Fosi amp. Also in the box is the Fosi amp PS and a 120V to 12v transformer. I hooked up a 4 pin speed controller, so the speed of the fan could be tuned down slightly. It flows air so well, it if probably only running at 1/2 capacity.

Used to replace my CPU cooling fan. It runs so slow with such little noise that I had to keep checking to make sure it was running. It speeds up when needed but it's still really quite and provides good airflow to keep everything within its proper heat range. Good price for a nice quality fan.

I installed this fan as an emergency replacement for a damaged OEM CPU fan in a Dell Inspiron 3471 running an i9-9900 processor. My concerns going in were whether the Dell BIOS embedded controller would accept a third party fan signal — it did without any issues. Passed POST on first boot with no fan errors thrown. Performance has been impressive. CPU temperatures are sitting at 40°C under gaming load with a maximum of 46°C during extended sessions running demanding titles like Pragmata and Marvel Rivals. The fan is currently running at around 3,300-4,400 RPM under load and the Dell EC is reading and controlling it correctly via PWM. Installation was straightforward — fit the existing Dell shroud without modification. The 4-pin PWM connector is compatible with Dell's proprietary fan header. For anyone trying to replace a Dell OEM CPU fan on a budget and worried about BIOS compatibility — this fan works.
