Element: Yoga For Beginners [DVD]

I really enjoyed it.
I havn't done any 'real' exercise for a fair few years as my children are 4 and 2 and I'm usually knackered - so I thought I'd try and get back into shape using a DVD at home, nice and gentle. This DVD is excellent for relaxing back into a fitness programme. Not too hard, a little exerting in the middle, calm and helping to release stress at the end. It does not jump throughout the DVD as one other reviewer said, only at the very end when you are lying down and relaxing, suddenly she's sitting up and finishing. I think that is where you can pause the DVD and lay as long as you want to before you finish. This could be made clearer. Make sure you roll onto your side to push to the sitting position. Other than that, I thought it was great. The instructor is american. I did not find her accent irritating but quite soothing and the music is calm.

Beginners???
Okay, I know it's a gentle trip into yoga compared to some of the more advanced dvds there are out ther, but this woman was trying to bend me into shapes I've not be t into since primary school 40 odd years ago. Obviously she can bend further than a first timer, but on my first attempt, even though she said "don't concentrate on the position so much as the breathing" (or words to that effect), I did find myself unable to breath is some positions because, well, I int so svelte. All that aside, I'm sure that over tim, and with perseverance, I will get the hang of it and be able to complete the thing without falling over one day

Beginners... No!
I did this work out and it is good if you just want to pick specific things to do for your practice like backbends, sun salutations etc but I did the whole 50 minutes and I had to take a few breaks. This claims to be for beginners but it isn't some of the positions are hard and that was the points where I had to take breaks. I have bought her other dvd ( Element: AM & PM Yoga [DVD ]) which is a bit easier that this one. It's good if you've been doing practice for a while but no good for the complete beginner.

Does what it says if you are semi fit
Absolutely great dvd had no problems with it except to realise that I'm no good at yoga, even the beginners stuff. I thought it would be more stretching, I think maybe Pilates would be better for me with my joint problems. Great for someone with no health problems who wants to learn. Beautifully shot and well explained.

Great for beginners, but not a super strenuous Yoga class
I've recently started doing yoga (I'd done about 4 or 5 yoga classes) and bought this to practice in between classes. I would say it's very basic but great if you're a learner like me. It is easy to follow and you feel really stretched afterwards. I'd recommend for using alongside a weekly Yoga class to keep limber

Review
I brought this as I thought it would suite my condition and to help me get my core strength back, I found that some of the positions were so hard I couldn't do them, if you have a pre existing condition , go for something with more stretches and meditation and build up to doing this.

good yoga dvd
i must admit i didnt think it would be possible to do yoga watching dvd but it is and im yhinking of buying afew more yoga dvds this dvd was realy good sound is good back ground is good she sounds very clear the only thing is this might be alittle too fast for you than again any dvd will be you have to do it with your own paste no matter what other wise you could injure your self my advice is dont try to learn yoga in a months time it takes years you could always learn different technuqes all the time and do it slowly.
