Product Description This playful software is animated with hundreds of sketches, new scenes, surprises and activities. Your child directs the action with just a click of the mouse; littler ones can choose the Read-to-Me mode. Children will build important skills while playing games such as Mouse in a House, the Wacky Food Concentration Game and the Silly Rhyming Sentence Machine. .co.uk Review Your children will thoroughly enjoy the software version of Dr Seuss's classic Green Eggs and Ham.While Sam's story is best-suited for toddlers and pre-schoolers, older siblings can still enjoy playing the included games for a time or two as well. Required mouse skills are basic, so even younger users should be able to play on their own. Clear, bright images are nearly identical to the original book illustrations, with the simple animation providing new excitement as the story builds to its "surprising" climax. With Dr Seuss's excellent combination of phonics and word repetition, your children will receive a great introduction to crucial early-reading skills. --Jill Lightner P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Review This electronic storybook was designed by the original Living Books team at Br?derbund and was the second Dr. Seuss title made for CD-ROM. (The first was Dr. Seuss ABCs.) The program contains 18 beautifully illustrated pages with carefully designed animations derived from the classic Dr. Seuss book. Also hidden in the story are three activities that vary in quality. Our test families' favorite was the enjoyable word- and sentence-making activity. Testers weren't as enthusiastic, however, about the relatively dry three-level color-matching game and the word-rhyming activity. While the activities could have been much stronger, the quality of the text, graphics and animations are all high, making the CD a solid addition to an educational software library. Watch to OS system
Excellent product - we moved onto it from softkey's ABC by Dr Seuss which is our favourite - this is v.g. too. However 'freezes' when played on windows XP. So stick to the OS systems it says it supports.

I can't really use it because
it is for windows 95 and is not compatible with my laptop. so it is not much use for my grand daughter, for who it was intended.

Brings Dr Seuss to life
Our (nearly) three-year-old has been a fan of Dr Seuss's since we first started reading him books, and this game has given him the opportunity to explore one of his favourite books for himself. Not only did it give him the incentive to master using the mouse (actually, the trackpad on a laptop - he has to use two fingers at once, as a single finger is too small to register!) but he learned how to start-up and shutdown XP so that he could play the game when no-one was around to help. The animation, music and voices are excellent, but it's the mini-games that he keeps coming back to - particularly the memory game, which he'll play time and time again. Best of all, the game works well both on PC and Mac, meaning that he can play it on his mammy's laptop or on mine, depending on which is available. The game runs in Classic on OS X, but works fine.If Green Eggs And Ham had been twice the price, it would still have been worth every penny. Highly, highly recommended.

Should have Read the System Requirements more closely
I was delighted to find this product as my son plays it at nursery and loves it. However, in my excitement I failed to read the system requirements or other review that says it only works on way old PCs & Macs. Can't get it to work on my mac at all and it crashes frequently on the PC, so I have one disappointed little boy. Own fault though!

Excellent Read
We have had hours of fun with this book. My children are 3 and 4 and we have to read this every night and throughout the day. Great pictures and great story. These books are what have got my son reading.

Great value for money
Both of my children - ages 2 and 5 - have really enjoyed Green Eggs and Ham. My toddler finds it easy to click around the story and my older boy likes looking for all the hidden little surprises on each page. As one of the cheaper CD-Roms on the market I think it's excellent value for money, and so far it's their favourite CD. My boys have also hugely enjoyed exploring the free demo section - it's full of little tasters of other books in the series.

Watch the System Requirements Closely
This product doesn't appear to run without the "classic environment" on a Mac (which is apparently not supported on Snow Leopard) and it's been a while since I saw a software product designed to run on Windows 3.1.For Mac users running OSX, there appear to be newer versions of this product out there. Caveat emptor...

Brilliant!
The humourous animation, true-to-original characters, hidden surprises, engaging games and wonderful muscial score make this my 2 year old's all time favourite. Even the demos included with the software are excellent and playable in their own right!
