Arrived sooner than I had expected. It has weight to it. I love working with it. You can take the metal out if you want to but I see no need. It did have some oil on it I guess to keep it from oxidizing before and during shipment which is no problem to me all I did was wipe it off and started working with it and I love it. Exactly as described in the pictures. The hammer that comes with it had no issues with it either I've actually used it a couple of times it gets the job done.

I was most interested in the block and rubber base. The metal block is smooth, flat and heavy. It separates from the rubber base easily yet still fits snug when together. The hammer is a child’s toy. Extremely light weight and not suitable for any real use. The gold foil arrived flaking off from the head of the hammer and it was loosely attached to the handle. I tried to use it to strike a metal design stamp, just to see, and the stamp left a considerable dent in the head. I pitched it after a single use. 5 stars for the block and base - the hammer doesn’t even deserve a rating.

Block is good but hammer is poop. The block is greasy but nothing a baby wipe can't handle. The block is a great size and weight. The hammer is NOT domed and smooth. It has some half moon imprint looking thing in it. Totally showed up on the wire. The block has a couple of scratches but I think that will be OK. Not sure about worth the money yet.
