does it keep good readings? i have an accurite and it sucks.

Not really. Probably within 5 degrees either way. I had to twist the mounting in the back to get it close to start with. The good news is it's cleaner looking than my old one.

Does this come with a metal hanging bracket so it will swivel?

This is a wall mount device. I believe the next size down does swivel. "Springfield Big and Bold Thermometer with Mounting Bracket (5.25-Inch)". I opted for the larger face.

Picture for q1 shows "made in usa" stamped on the bottem. was that the case with yours, or was the current crop made in china?

There is a little sticker on the back which says, "Made in China". The front of the device is blank. Maybe there is a mix-up on the item. It has no clear front cover like previous models I have purchased.

How to adjust/calibrate?

The adjustment is on the back with a small bar connected to the coil. Just move it either direction to match a known temp (like your indoor thermostat temp).
