Beautiful cake stand even though it was quite expensive it is lovely and my daughter adores it.

I have wasted over £50 on this nice but not practical cake ...
I have wasted over £50 on this nice but not practical cake stand-it is not airtight-there are large enough gaps when dome is placed on stand to let lots of air in which dried out my cake. The dome also slides all over the place as it does not have a high enough ridge to keep it in place or to keep it more airtight. I understand that it would be impossible to make glass on ceramic 100% airtight but my last cake stand at £30 from Sainsbury's kept my cakes lovely and moist for up to a week- it had ridge around the stand and fitted well and snugly.
