An Advent Calendar With Cool Stuff to Do and Learn
We've purchased many advent calendars in the past with either chocolate or figurines or squishies etc. which are nice to collect but don't have a lot of value after Christmas. I think they're all put away in a closet now, and the enjoyment of opening each day's "door" was short lived. This National Geographic Magic Advent Calendar actually gave us stuff to DO, and we looked forward to learning a new trick or trying out a little experiment every day. Some of the tricks build on previous ones so you need to open them all in order. There are a few really neat science experiments and you can learn a lot about bases and acids/alkalines and disclosers. It was fun learning the tricks and then performing them for other family members. They were amazed and baffled at how we accomplished the tricks and we all had a good time. It's also helpful to learn some of the "banter" that goes with magic and the misdirection that is very important to make the tricks go over well.We had a fun time with each of these tricks and will definitely look for something similar for next year. This is an excellent option for a calendar if you are into learning and magic. Great for kids though there are small parts like dice and some experiments involve stuff like citric acid and a type of microcrystalline cellulose so keep out of reach of the little kiddos.

Buscaba un calendario de adviento para mis hijos que no fueran cosas que terminarian en la basura y este no me defraudó. Esta espectacular apenas llevamos 3 días pero estan súper emocionados con los trucos de magia. Ya están organizando show de magia par ala cena navideña. 100% recomendado
