Does what it's supposed to
Got some of this for my old swiss army knife that I had lost a couple of years ago and just found. It was all a bit gummed up as it used to get a lot of use. I simply opened up all the blades on it and removed the toothpick and the tweezers and washed it in some warm slightly soapy water for a few minutes and then left it in some clean warm water for 10 mins. I then left it out to dry for a day or so while I waited for this item to arrive.Adding the very smallest amout to the hinges at both ends and then working each item for a minute or so has completely transformed this to it's former glory, it's even possible to open many of these one handed without breaking any nails. It still has its definite stops but now glides nicely open and closed. Well worth the money to get the right oil for this kind of use.

Good value: Twice the amount (10ml)
You may think £13.35 a lot for this oil manufactured by Victorinox, but the vial contains 10ml whereas others only contain 5ml. It is the highest quality machine oil on the market, and it will enable all my SAKs to work very well.I'm very pleased with this Victorinox oil because even 10ml will last a very long time: only a few tiny drops will be neededBefore oiling SAKs or general multitools: Stuck blades that don't open easily should first be opened and closed a few times in warm water. Then dry the SAK and once dry, apply the oil as directed.Excellent. Would recommend.

Vital for renovating Swiss Army knives.
Reading recommendations by other customers I used this oil to renovate a knife which was in very poor condition. It was hard to get any of the blades or tools to deploy -- even with a pair of pliers. Soaking the knife in hot water with washing up liquid added and then application of this oil over a number of days has produced a fully workable knife. Highly recommended!

A little goes a very long way...
Obviously, this is Victorinox's preferred choice of knife lubricant, so as the owner of many Swiss Army Knives, I decided to try it out. Having used other oils over the years, including WD-40 type sprays and high quality Teflon gun oils, I can honestly say that this stuff is good. After a wash and clean, a drop applied into the pivot gap of each blade/tool, and a little on the side, next to the pivot is all you need... The applicator tip is just the right thickness for most of the SAK tool pivots. It's a 'strange' kind of oil, in that it has a slight 'stickiness' about it - I think it may contain silicone or similar. It does not run off surfaces like other general purpose oils, but it still gives the right effect on knife pivots. May not be the best for rust prevention on larger blades (probably still recommend a wipe with gun oil for that), but for Swiss Army Knife pivots, it's just the thing, and a bottle may well last you a lifetime.

Expensive but good
Brought an old Swiss Army Knife back to life.First of all I washed it, then let it dry.At this point it becomes incredibly stiff, I couldn’t get the tools to move, and it is impossible to use. This is why you must have the oil to hand after cleaning.Do not clean a Swiss Army Knife without oiling it afterwards. You won’t be able to use it!After applying a small amount of oil to each tool and slowly locking/unlocking, locking/unlocking, I now have a knife as good as new. This oil is very good and works well. It’s expensive but you only need the smallest amount. I honestly think this little tub will literally last me a decade.

Bought this for multi tool
Got this to work in Leatheman Signal multi tool I’ve recently bought as it was very stiff. Worked like magic! Still some way to go to loosen it up more, but it really greatly improved the operation of the multi tool so far.
