Miele 10207840 Compact C2 Extreme Vacuum Cleaner, 1600 W

We bought this vacuum cleaner two years and three months ago....... the warranty was for two years and the motor has gone (started arcing, and has lost a lot power). We have used it in a 'normal' manner, for just household vacuuming. We don't have any pet and have used the genuine bags and filters.The machine itself is nothing special. The cord is arguably too short. It is (well was) powerful, but nothing to write home about. I have no idea how Miele can justify charging so much. It was a mistake to think paying three t fours times the normal amount for a vacuum cleaner was a wise investment.A replacement motor is £159.99!!! Therefore, not economical repair. I would never buy Miele again. Incredibly overpriced, with overpriced spares.Maybe some other people have Mieles that last for years and years, but we haven't, and it is just shocking how much they are to repair.I will buy another branded machine at the fraction of the cost and one that is much cheaper to repair when it goes wrong.If you have money to burn (or just more than sense), then maybe go for this. Not impressed.
