Essential Cosmic Perspective Plus Mastering Astronomy with eText, The -- Access Card Package (7th Edition) (Bennett Science & Math Titles) 7th Edition

This book was everything I needed for my astronomy class, it has such a huge source of vocabulary and helped so much on the online course we had to take my class. It was a little disappointing that some people got an access code with their books and other didn't, including me but it was a great book to use.

I was actually pretty surprised that out of all the textbooks I ordered this semester, this one was the most understandable. I'm sure that this is just an overview of what are incredibly complicated theories, but the writing isn't TOO boring and actually explains astronomy in a way that makes sense.Be careful ordering, though - there are what seems like a billion different editions of this book in addition to a textbook called "The Cosmic Perspective" (no essential) and many places will get ISBN numbers confused, so double check your syllabus to make sure the title matches. Additionally, do NOT depend on the access code enclosed to actually match whatever your online lab is; I wound up having to order one separately because they were not the same.

Great textbook for students wishing to take introductory astronomy. The authors are mindful that not all freshmen have taken college-level physics before taking intro astronomy, so they included intro physics chapters as well. It covers most astronomy topics, and allows flexibility for instructors to modify course materials.

The cover is pretty, but very flimsy so that the pages warp and wrinkle easily. I was also disappointed not necessarily with Amazon but with the product itself - the online "Mastering Astronomy" component is different from "'Modified' Mastering Astronomy" - it did not work for my class. Congratulations, Pearson, on taking more of my money.

It was expensive, but what can you do? A good book for my class. The Mastering Astronomy access is awesome! It really helps me understand what I need to for the class

The access code for the SkyGazer 5.0 didn't work so I had to contact Carina Software directly. Turns out, Amazon gave me a code that was not even in the Carina Software database. Carina Software was wonderful and provided me with a new code that did work and I didn't have to pay extra for it.

Good book so far!! I'm glad it doesn't have any writing or highlighting like other books. The one down side is say is just the condition it came. The front and back are folding back a lot from co usually being folded open

The items is outstanding. The cost to rent meet all expectations.
