I added my own veggies and i wont lie)..my family loved it ..i was in shock!..my kid are all grown up and moved out)..thank god..lol..so let me pretend im the ceo of this company..2 for 10..thats it ..why? Most of America's never eaten Cajun ..you have to introduce them to it. This is a great base.. Me I added chicken Onion peppers zucchini summer squash.. Still can't believe everyone loved it oh yeah it's true and a nice teaspooner to call you a pepper Still can't believe everyone loved it oh yeah it's true and a nice Amount of Cayenne pepper

I went to the company's web-site, just to double-check the details and paid more attention to the company's own web-site when it stated that the amount of meat to be used to the 8 oz. of gumbo mix is 11 lbs. BUT when the item arrived, the package itself stated the meat amount to be 1 lbs. Everyone who has done gumbo knows that there is no way you use only 1, ONE lbs of meat. When trying to read the ingredient list, it has a sticker slapped on top of it and tears when trying to peel it, so can't check the ingredients.And to top it all of, when I looked at the mix, I see rice kernels in the spice mix, which leads me to believe they're trying to make the 8 oz. by adding rice, rather than the item being sold as the base for Gumbo! I used key words, "gumbo base" and this popped up, so to have rice as one of the main materials is a con. I paid over $7 for this small bag of nothing. I will not use it and have just thrown it away.

We added shrimp and sausage to the mix and it was very good. It has rice in the mix, but we cooked a little more since there was enough liquid to be able to add a little more rice.
